Rasmussen Ohio Poll: McCain 44 Obama 43
Edited on Wed Jun-18-08 08:43 PM by thewiseguy
In the last Rasmussen poll McCain led Obama 45-44. Now here is the funny part:

The survey, taken Tuesday night, suggests that the modest bounce in the polls that Obama experienced nationwide following Clinton’s departure from the race may be settling out.

Is not it pathetic for Rasmussen to suggest something like this given that last time they polled Ohio the results were the same? And that their polls in Ohio never showed such a bump?

I bet you all that Scott would be on Hannity's show tomorrow night repeating these talking points!

Obama's modest bump in the polls is settling out.

1. Still, this is a statistical tie
Which is good news for Obama. Bush won here by 2 or 3%, if I'm not mistaken.

2. This is actually good news
Because it shows OH as very close parallel against the Quinnapiac poll that show it a little for Obama. The point is, McCain is struggling there.

4. Rasmussen is push polling.
They only interviewed 500 people in contrast to the 1400 number for Quinnipiac.

PPD has Obama up by 11 in Ohio. SUSA had him up by 9. Quinnipiac has him up by 6.

The rethugs are scared and they are push polling. Scott will be on Hannity's show in no time bullshitting on how Obama had a modest bump and its now settling out!

5. I don't trust Rasmussen... Questions like this are totally misleading:
Edited on Wed Jun-18-08 09:38 PM by NYC_SKP
Question 11*
In order to reduce the price of gas, should drilling be allowed in offshore oil wells off the coasts of California, Florida, and other states?

71% Yes
18% No
11% Not sure

The premise of the question, "to reduce the price of gas" is a false one by most accounts.

Obama is really going to have to educate the voters, be proactive, use experts and persuasive (and honest) arguments.

Americans need to use less energy, all players in the energy field need to be scrutinized and regulated. Energy shills in positions of power need to be purged.

An informed populace is the most important factor to the participatory democracy that we've lost, but which we are about to regain.

7. "In order to save the planet, should we restrict greedy corporations from offshore oil drilling?"
No shit. What a horribly loaded question.

Survey research 101 requires we stipulate the trade off to avoid biasing effects.
