We Know You're *So* Troubled, or, I Love Concern Trolls!!!
Take an inflammatory or factless/baseless comment and add a question mark. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Example -

Shithead comment: Obama is changing his policies. Omfg no one can vote for him. McCain is going to win!!!

Shithead turned Concern Troll: Did anyone notice that Obama is changing his policies?? OMFG how are other Democrats going to react to this?!?!?! McCain just might win!!

(Option: site a right leaning/ right wing publication. Check the editorial pages for the really good dirt!)

Take this to heart to all you who are so fucking concerned: we're going to win in November. Period. Momentum, money and good old fashioned truthiness is on our side. But until then, please, continue to pretend that you care. It will definitely be noted in the journal of the curious and concerned.

Plus, I love a good laugh in the middle of the work day.

1. We're going to win in a walk. That doesn't mean we shouldn't hold Obama accountable
If he's moving rightward, we need to let him know what we think of that. That's not concern-trolling, that's just democracy.

2. The problem comes when there is no actual evidence that he is moving rightward.
Today, the evidence that he is "moving rightward" is that:

1. He hired a staffer who once worked for a Democrat who voted for Bush's tax cuts.
2. He claimed he wouldn't be reckless or irresponsible in his handling of Iraq (which he has always said).

3. No you dont get it.
I myself have made threads criticizing Obama. One as recently as yesterday. No one in that thread gave me shit for criticizing Obama. No one called me a troll.

However, there are some who are dedicated to making such threads. In facts thats all they do. Show their concern around the clock. That is concern trolling.

5. Exactly.
It's one thing to be critical and discuss different points of view. Concern trolls seem to center around how this is going to affect Obama once the news or the truth about the real Obama breaks.

12. Sounds like we agree -- with one caveat
I'd rather put up with a few annoying trolls than risk shutting down legitimate debate. I've have my "concerns" about Obama's support for things like clean coal labelled trolling, and it effectively hijacked the discussion.

I'm hopeful that people will be less sensitive now that the primary is over and Obama is clearly the better candidate in the general.

17. You're fine, in fact, it may mean that you are just human.....
like the rest of us. Many times in my haste to post something, I have typed "there" when I should have typed "their or they're" and misspelled many a word. But, I was thankful when nobody pointed it out and tried to purposely embarrass me, because I had already beaten myself up over it and didn't need somebody piling on.

More often than not, it's not the spelling they're objecting to, it's something much more deeper that is troubling them.

13. If memory serves me correctly...
the term "concern troll" popped up during the 2004 campaign.

Looks like they haven't added any new plays to the playbook.

20. Concern trolls are wimps!
If they had any balls, they'd post something like this:

"I'm a freeper, you guys suck, now ban me."

We're all intelligent enough to see their concern posts in matrix code. It reads just like the above.
