Biden: I'd Make a Great President, Secretary of State, Vice President
@ 1:53 pm by Walter Alarkon
http://briefingroom.thehill.com/2008/06/17/biden-id-make-a-great-president-secretary-of-state-vice-president/

Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) enthusiastically confirmed Tuesday his aspirations in a Barack Obama administration, telling reporters that he doesn't want to join the ticket — but would take it if asked.

"I'd make a great president. I 'd make a great Secretary of State. I'd make a great vice president," said Biden, who was responding to reports that he could join an Obama administration. "There are a lot of people out there who want the job. I'm not one of them… (But) you'd have to take it. There's not a single, solitary person who, with Barack Obama as the presidential nominee in this most historic of races, who if asked would say 'no.' I wouldn't say 'no.' I hope he doesn't ask me.

"But if he asked me, I'd say yes. I'm not being coy."

Biden avoided endorsing either Obama or Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) during the entire primary process.

3. Hold out for Secretary of State, Joe.
Your frankness is endearing to many Democrats, but it turns off a lot of other people (for some odd reason).

5. Personally I love his "pure Biden" style
He is simply out there with how he believes and feels. Guess that is not being politically correct now days. Oh well, I'm a strong supporter for any position Obama may give him.

6. I love that man for his head full of smarts and his ass full of baloney.
Yes, he'd make a great VP. But, jeeze, Joe, you're not supposed to say it that way!

Why doesn't this man have a show on MSNBC?

7. I remember in the debates people saying, well, if he doesn't win
he could host a show or do standup.

I would like him as a powerful Sec of State. At the SFRC hearings last week he talked about hoping his committee could start to provide guidance for the next administration.

8. I take it he is being honest, not coy
Others play the coy game.

Let's face it, who was the candidate that insisted we needed to pay more attention to Pakistan?

11. I like the way you put it...
I love that man for his head full of smarts and his ass full of baloney.
He just doesn't seem to care who he offends or how he does it, but he speaks his mind. That is one of the reasons I'd like to see him on the ticket, he would be a great attack dog.

19. That's why VP is out of the question. He's much better on foreign policy issues
even if he voted for the IWR. He's been right on Pakistan all along and Obama's talk of Pakistan convinced me that he's been listening and receiving cues from Biden. I think Biden is a much better diplomat and has command of the issues. His only problem if that he tends to run off at the mouth at times, which is another reason why he cannot be VP. We can't afford for the Obama campaign to be forced to respond or clean up every time Biden says something out of left field. Still, I'd like to see him be the Sec. of State.

20. Yes, because domestic issues like funding local police forces or stopping violence against women
are solely the responsibility of the Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Biden is well-rounded politically and personally and he'd be a great Vice-President, Secretary of State or ANY type of member of the President's Cabinet. People who want to put Biden down conveniently ignore his 30someodd year history in the Senate.

He's an incredible man.
