According to JohnMcCain.com's McCain Timeline, he did NOTHING (no things) the following years
after graduating:

1958
1959
1960
1961
1962
1963
1964
1965
1966
1967
1975
1976
1981
1982
2007
2008

Yes, it appears his amazing record of non-voting in the Senate is only the tip of the iceberg. His own timeline has him taking several complete years off from everything. (This appears to be an example of what his website refers to as "straight talk.")

1. Redfining "experience," I see. Can you imagine what would happen if our own resumes
were like that? :eyes:

2. He actually had a pretty full plate in '89 and 90
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keating_Five

and from his own Wiki entry:

Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in legal<87> political contributions from Charles Keating Jr. and his associates at Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, along with trips on Keating's jets<86> that McCain failed to repay until two years later.<88> In 1987, McCain was one of the five senators whom Keating contacted in order to prevent the government’s seizure of Lincoln, which was by then insolvent and being investigated for making questionable efforts to regain solvency. McCain met twice with federal regulators to discuss the government's investigation of Lincoln.<86>

On his Keating Five experience, McCain said: "The appearance of it was wrong. It's a wrong appearance when a group of senators appear in a meeting with a group of regulators, because it conveys the impression of undue and improper influence. And it was the wrong thing to do."<89> Federal regulators ultimately filed a civil suit against Keating. The five senators came under investigation for attempting to influence the regulators. In the end, none of the senators were charged with any crime. McCain was rebuked by the Senate Ethics Committee for exercising "poor judgment",<89> but their 1991 report said that McCain's "actions were not improper nor attended with gross negligence and did not reach the level of requiring institutional action against him."

4. Where does your avatar come from?
It reminds me of the OK Soda cans. Is it the same artist?

6. It comes from a blog of Iraqi war vets. I had the link on my laptop
but lost the bookmarks. Great site, I should try to find it again.

9. I see the similarity
his work looks good. Maybe the site lifted the original work/style from something he did for Subpop?

Thanks for the headsup.

11. I can find no mention of banging a lobbyist. Maybe that was during one of his years off.

5. Filling in the time line: 1958, McCain crashed his first plane
This could be fun.

McCain III lost jet number one in 1958 when he plunged into Corpus Christi Bay while practicing landings. He was knocked unconscious by the impact coming to as the plane settled to the bottom.

McCain's second crash occurred while he was deployed in the Mediterranean. "Flying too low over the Iberian Peninsula," Timberg wrote, "he took out some power lines which led to a spate of newspaper stories in which he was predictably identified as the son of an admiral."

McCain's third crash three occurred when he was returning from flying a Navy trainer solo to Philadelphia for an Army-Navy football game.
