CNN Poll of Polls: Obama ahead by 4
CNN: June 13, 2008
Polls: Obama ahead by 4 over McCain
From CNN Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Barack Obama holds a 4 point lead over John McCain, according to a compilation of the latest national surveys. Forty seven percent of registered voters are backing the senator from Illinois in a new CNN Poll of Polls, released Friday, with 43 percent supporting the senator from Arizona. Ten percent of voters are unsure when it comes to their choice for president.

Obama’s lead is down one point from the last CNN Poll of Polls, which was released on Wednesday.

“It’s increasingly clear from our ‘poll of polls’ average that Sen. Obama holds a small advantage over Sen. McCain as we head into the general election,” says CNN Senior Political Researcher Alan Silverleib. “Time will tell whether Obama’s lead is a temporary bounce resulting from the end of the Democratic nomination fight, or whether it is a more permanent reflection of voters’ desire for change this year.”

This latest edition of the CNN Poll of Polls is an average of four new national surveys, a Gallup poll taken from June 9-12, an NBC/Wall Street Journal survey conducted from June 6-9, a Diageo/Hotline poll taken from June 5-8, and our own CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey conducted from June 4-5. The CNN Poll of Polls does not have a sampling error.

1. Factor in all the progressives that can't make themselves watch CNN any more than FOX now
also... and this has been a factor in the Primary Season... Obama brings in disaffected and unregistered voters

2. Are you saying that only CNN viewers were polled? I don't think that's the case.
Maybe I misunderstood your post -- sorry if I did.

6. I thought of that after I posted... if they do a real "poll of polls" then I guess I'm wrong
but the previously unregistered? do you think they got them?

9. I don't know enough about polling to answer your good question. Maybe...
someone else here who knows more will offer some info.

5. The missing element is the cell phone factor...

...some younger voters no longer bother with land-lines for phone needs, and polls don't take that into account.

I don't think polls mean a whole lot right now anyway. This is obviously a fairly close election that seems to slightly favor Obama.

In all probability, it will be decided by the events that lead up to the election and what happens in the debates. I think Obama has a big advantage in the debates.

4. I say we need at least a 10 point lead to cover the fraud spread.

8. fraud in 2000 and 04 - unresolved issues - most unreported story
it's BIG BIG deal and I concur completely

have you noticed that in the primary, they somehow put it in the public mind that exit polls were no good?

exit polls is how the academics nailed the fraud in 04...

now they're "in question" in the public mind

we only got them in reference to demographic spreads... to further confuse, obfuscate, and fabricate issues where none exist

11. exactly - As long as I live I will never believe AssHat won FL
in 04. Kerry was up 2 the night before the election - AssHat "won" by 6 and the kicker -
the people who made up their mind in the last week - went 58% for Kerry. You do
the math.

As long as I live I will never ever believe that Clinton truly won NH either. Obama
was ahead in the polls - even clinton internals. And O won the exits by 3. Miraculously
Hillary came up with 37k votes - all unpolled and all would have had to lie to the
exit pollers.

Before Bush, I never ever thought we would lose our right to vote in a fair election.
I still can not believe it is gone.
