LOL!! I mean, is it finally safe to come out and post for a newbie?

I've been a DU reader for years and decided to finally join but this
cycles Primaries have been so vicious I honestly was hesitant to
join in. I really wanted to post for Obama but I didn't want to
get caught up in all the fights.

We as a party finally have our candidate so I'm hoping it's finally
safe to come on DU again!!

17. I've been posting responses for approx 3 months now and it's a good experience.

I'm enjoying watching this US election (y'see, I'm Canadian - so it doesn't matter directly - so maybe I'm a little more aloof). I really like Obama. I like the choice the US is getting, finally - esp. on issues, esp. on health care. I'm glad Elizabeth Edwards is being consulted (or whatever) on Obama's health care project. I think, because she's been a critic, that she'll open the door for wide discussion and the US'll be better off.

Universal health care won't be easy to bring into being. And, once it *is* brought into being, to whatever extent, the watchword is VIGILANCE. The right will never tire of trying to tear it down - even while the majority of citizens will want to strengthen it and fine tune it.

I agree with The Magistrate when he posted earlier today that as one responsible in part for the policing of this place, he could honestly say neither side was better than the other.

The only difference is that one candidate won and the other lost. Other than that there were nasty hateful Clinton supporters, Obama supporters and republican chaos trolls. And them's just the facts. Sorry if you can see through the loss to reality. :(
