The only problem with living in a really Blue state during the GE:
The Dem candidate doesn't have to campaign here, really. x(

I hope McSame doesn't set his sights on MA... :puke:

1. Feel your pain. I'm in NY, although rumour has it that McCain is trying to make a play here.

2. Hopefully we can see Obama in NH
We're planning on putting most of our energy there, although I also plan on voter registration here in MA. :)

come to New York to let us get to know him on a rally level:patriot: :bounce: :kick:

although they all like to fund raise here, but that doesn't mean anything to we little people.

5. We have the best of both worlds in Philly.
Our city is bluer than blue. It's a Democratic lovefest.

Buuuuut, candidates have to campaign here to GOTV if they want to win the state.

We're spoiled, really.

6. Ditto for a really Red one..
Lucky swing state folks get all the rallies :( . Us really-Red staters get to only watch them on TV. Living in TX, we're more likely to get snow in July than have a Dem rally/campaign in October or November.

every commercial break. Combine that with our pathetic Republican Senate candidate here in CO and it's enough to make you watch a DVD :)

20. Actually, we still get the rethug ads in eastern MA
Because a lot of NH is in range of Boston TV and radio stations. So they'll air ads aimed at NH on Boston teevee stations.

10. I'm glad Obama's decided we're in play this year.
We got a rally once last time since Edwards was on the ticket, but usually we're given up on.

11. I live in MA too
and think it's better not to have a ton of bumper stickers praising Bush like some states probably have. I swear if you have a Bush bumper sticker on your car in Boston, good luck merging with traffic.

28. No offense but as a longtime Boston driver, good luck merging EVER

I can't imagine seeing a Bush bumper sticker downtown, although I have seen them in Southern New Hampshire with some relative frequency (although not even that frequent)

If Obama comes to NH, I'm taking the trip down to my house for sale in N. Mass. that sits vacant because I can't sell it, I should be close by any S. NH stops!

14. Upstate NY - we didn't even have anyone campaign for the primary here.
It's a bummer, but I guess the upshot is that we aren't too terribly inundated with political ads. Still, it would be cool to actually see Obama campaign in person.

But we'll see what the campaign decides. No matter what, I'll be fighting for him all the way.

19. Didn't you hear? McCain's "strategy update" says he will win the
big blue states by attracting all these independents. That presentation mentions California by name, so I'm sure MA and NY will also be really tight races where Obama has to campaign his ass off just to hold on to.

McCain: Delusions we can count on

actually McCain did swing by. Obama did a radio interview with VPR and said he'd come if he won the nomination. We'll see.

25. yeah, but they always come to NJ because the polls are always close
Same thing every cycle. Polls look close, they come to NJ, spend some money, go home, Dems win.

Why? We hate all politicians so everyone gets an equally bad rating when the pollsters ask. Then we get into the election booth and if our fingers wander too close to the Republican buttons our subconscious minds take over and say, "Holy shit, don't push that button! Are you nuts?". It's really that simple.

26. Visiting Mass now
I don't think McSame will come here........Deval Patrick and Barack Obama will do a media blitz a week before the election, maybe in Boston, Worcester, Springfield, they will have some big DOO in Mass, but Colorado needs Obama more, as do so many OTHER states.....sorry, but that's the truth, of course, you could REGISTER in CO, or VA, and vote there, and move BACK to Mass the next day.

during '04 the campaign ads were soooooo annoying - and harsh. You couldn't watch TV or radio without being bombarded with hate filled ads from both sides.

33. Obviously, Obama does not have to campaign in
Illinois, either. And our Senator Durbin will not have any problems getting re-elected. He will campaign, but has no worries.

That leaves all the rest of the offices. Do you have any republicans in your statehouse? Are there republican state representatives or senators? Are there red areas of your state? Go to work in those parts of your state.

Or, if you are really bored, you can come to my part of Northern Illinois. We are mostly red here, and are using our opportunities this year to get rid of some state and local republicans. You can help us if you like.

Dem governor, two Dem Senators, and a Dem Rep. There's not even anything downticket to work for. And WA is Obama country, so McLame won't even bother trying here.
