Win-Win Solution for Obama camp: Have list of VP candidates, including HRC, submit FULL disclosures
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 01:48 PM by blm
on all their dealings over the years both in government and in business and that of their spouses, stressing full and honest disclosure or risk instant disqualification - no exceptions. And be very PUBLIC about the strict requirements, while promising discretion to the list.

There will be no argument that could possibly be made by ANY potential VP candidate or their advocates to minimize the need for a qualified VP with a strong and clean ethical standard for this momentous campaign for the right kind of change for this nation.

Let's see who takes that challenge, meets it, and has the chops to deliver the win for Obama and all of US who support honest and open government accountable to the people.

5. I doubt few would have 2007 returns yet, but there's no reason they can't be part of the requirement
it would be a great way to show how quickly and WELL the VP candidate can perform under pressure, and would make for a better VP choice, eh?

3. It needs to include spouses
Bill's business deals since leaving the WH would certainly disqualify Hillary from consideration.

9. I didn't add 'bluff' to the post for obvious reason of impartiality extended to any candidate...
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 03:14 PM by blm
but, you can be damn sure 'BLUFF' is exactly why I posted it. I am no fan of bullshit and can find no reason to admire those gifted at delivering bullshit.....Republican or Dem.

12. A few staff ops know when to pass this stuff on. We have a few here at DU, y'know.
A few Kerry staffers have worked hand in hand with Obama staff for quite awhile.

DU posts get sent higher up more often than many realize.

15. For the record, though, I am not one of them.
I wish. But my spouse works for a major news group, and I get lotsa of inside info. Much of which gets watered down or the buzzsaw, sad to say.

Which is actually a charge I've posted about for a few years and a historic matter I have been posting about for MANY years.

Heh - mush to the dismay of the closed government wing of the Dem party.

22. So far, it's the open government Dems who have been helping him that caught
my attention from early on. THAT matters to me. And a reason I knew last summer that HRC was not going to be even considered for VP.

20. Fineman reporting on MSNBC right now that Hillary knew she would not pass the vetting process
b/c of Bill's business dealings. Thus she never wanted the VP.

21. Which also means she KNEW ALL ALONG she'd get killed over those deals as the Dem nominee.
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 07:17 PM by blm
Unless she expected BushInc to rig the election for her. After all, those business deals came from the same people protected throughout the 90s by Bill as he protected GHWBush and all his powerful cronies who for decades have been benefiting from the secrecy and privilege of closed government.

It's great cover for BushInc to have a DEM PRESIDENT mouthing the need to Mve Past the investigations needed. Look how it worked out for them in the 90s.

23. He has said he will use a process, which implies filling out forms and being vetted
Hillary will get a packet along with the others, and we'll see if she and Bill will even fill them out.

24. Nope - she's out already.
I actually knew this long ago. Johnson vetted her in 2004 and her situation has only become MORE compromised since then, not less - she knew if she didn't get Pres she'd never get VP with the vetting that goes on.

That's why I believe strongly she stayed in after Super Tuesday's math proved showed she'd never win, just to help McCain. Hillary 2012 started running shortly after Super Tuesday.

25. Alter just said on Countdown that she could/might ask for a "waiver" of the vetting process.
I think that's really stretching it...

26. Bush asked for a 'waiver' many times to cover up his problems, too. And usually did so
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 07:37 PM by blm
by Executive Order. We don't need any Dems who follow Bush's lead when it comes to deceiving the citizenry.
