9. I Resemble That Remark!

I happen to be sporting a pocket protector as we speak! I have in it: a pen, a mechanical pencil, a sharpie, a telescoping magnetic picker-upper, a super-hard scribe, and a spring-loaded center punch. I carry stuff a lot more useful on the job than half-a-dozen pens! Oh, and BTW, I'm glad * doesn't wear one; it would give geeks a bad name!

On edit: I also have two steel rules in there: one rigid, one flexible...and a hardness scale conversion chart...damn! I gotta take inventory more often!

16. Oh Yeah, I Almost Forgot
My safety glasses have side shields, and I've attached a plastic 'horn' on one side so I can clip a jeweler's loupe onto it; the loupe has two separate lenses. I need it for close-up work, but I don't wear it all the time. If I did, I'd have to carry a large stick to keep the women off of me :)

17. A red-blooded male with skills, and a job!
You're a catch, not to be confused with the pretender George Bush Junior, who just wears the costume, but doesn't have a clue.

14. It's the Size of a Pen, With a Clip, So it Fits in My Pocket Protector
it telescopes like a car antenna out to about 24", and there's a magnetic tip for picking up all the crap I keep dropping into inaccessible places.

22. His grades weren't high enough to merit a pocket protector
A beer can opener and a funnel, yes, but a pocket protector, no.

21. Um...let's be fair...
...and honest - John Kerry's not really much of a rockstar either. In the Democratic party, these days, there are two real rockstars: the Big Dog, and Barack Obama.

Kerry's getting huge, enthusiastic crowds (deservedly so), and isn't it a joy to hear a truly articulate campaigner for the presidency? But just because Bush sucks does not mean that Kerry is suddenly Bill Clinton on the stump, because no one is (other than the Big Dog himself, of course).
