I'd suggest either Lynn Woolsey or Barbara Lee.

How 'bout you?

1. Why does everyone talk about Lynn Woolsey so much?
I'd hardly call her a leader on the national scene.

37. That's my dream ticket.
What needs to happen is for Obama and Clinton to have a closed door meeting. The result of which needs for them to publicly say that after talking, they decided that what's best for the party is for Clinton to continue in the senate. Obama will need her as an ally and leader to pursue the things that they agreed with on the campaign.

Clinton can say that she went out on her terms, which is all I believe that she really wants. Then her supporters can get in line and we can move forward with a solid ticket.

40. I'm sorry, but the idea of Clinton actually wanting to be Obama's second in command
is insane to me. She openly said that he wasn't qualified and now she wants to report to him?

I can't imagine that at all. What would that working relationship be like?

6. Obama/Lincoln 2008 - That's the ticket
Blanche Lincoln should be on Obama's short list. She
brings more to the table than any other female
candidate out there - none of them have military or
foreign policy experience the way Wesley Clark or Bill
Richardson or Jim Webb have. But compared to Sebelius,
Napolitano or McCaskill, she is a better candidate.
Here's why:

1. 48 years old - looks like generational change as
compared to an older candidate who looks like his
mother.

2. White woman from Arkansas with a GENUINE Arkansas
accent - Hillary without the baggage and will carry Arkansas for the ticket

3. The name - alone - Obama/Lincoln will get Low
information voters to vote for her.

4. Two twin teenage boys - imagine the contrast with
Obama's beautiful girls - and neither of them selling
inappropriate board games as per Sebelius

5. Married - no hints of being a lesbian like
Napolitano or Barbara Mikulski

6. Husband is infertility doctor - Her connection to
health care is that she knows what her husband's job is like. That's as good as Hillary connection to being President - she knows what her husband's job was like.
Likely to be sophisticated about health care

7. Youngest woman elected to the Senate ever

8. 16 years legislative experience in Washington but
not known to the public as a Washington insider - 6
years in the house, 10 in the Senate

9. Co-founder Blue Dog coalition

10. Very active in rural issues in Congress as well as
agriculture, food, energy policy, health care,
geriatric issues. Great on domestic policy issues

11. Very attractive - would look great with Obama

AND above all - BEST bumper sticker

OBAMA/LINCOLN 2008

9. No, too much change to win.
it would backfire, especially since every other woman other than Hillary would look like they were given it for the simple fact they were a woman.

He needs to choose someone like Webb, people already say Obama is only winning because hes black. We don't need people saying that about the VP as well (selected for being a woman).

10. I disagree with that. The biggest argument against Barack is his
lack of experience. I believe in balancing out the ticket, and that includes foreign relations experience. I think it would be a bad idea to have Hillary as the VP, and there are no other women I can think of who have that, and even her's is questionable. Then there's that other unspoken question of "The country MAY be able to move beyond electing a black man as President, but isn't it asking TOO MUCH to accept a black man AND a woman TOO! Too much change all at one time!

we already have to deal with racists, we don't need to deal with sexists.

If either had been done before, then maybe. The fact though is our country's history is white men. Thats it. Both a black man and a woman at this point would be a nightmare for the campaign.

I think it would kill their chances. Way too much change for most people.

20. look, only ONE thing matters
that is that the Democrats win. Obama gets into office. That is what needs to happen.

I believe that a woman and a black man on the same ticket would put McCain in office.

I also don't think we should put someone in office JUST because they are a woman, like you are implying.

What this ticket really needs is a woman running mate.

that implies enough.

maybe if you listed some who would be more qualified than the potential men, that would be a little different.

Who Obama needs is someone big on foreign and military experience. Also someone who could help flip a state.

If you think a woman would be more qualified than the top men already listed here time and time again who fits that description, then fine, but I doubt you will find one.

Many of the women would be great VPs, but that is the field Obama needs to concentrate on when he chooses his running mate.

27. There are tons of qualified women out there
Hillary Clinton is defeating all women's chances at success by these moves. If the veep can only be Hillary, what the hell does that say about all women's skills, abilities, capabilities? It says she is unique and others couldn't possibly hold a candle next to her uniqueness. Hillary needs some rest, right now, if she thinks this way. If not, freaking step aside and let the winner get to getting down to business.
