I just re-read Skinner's entry about the primary season. GD-P's venom will exist for an extra week.

You get one more week to be embarrassingly horrible to Hillary and Obama.

What I want to know is if DU will be letting DUers malign a sitting Democratic Senator and former First Lady with hate-filled, non-constructive criticism (such as GD-P is know for and little else) after that week is over. Our nominee is spared this indignity after a week. If Hillary is Obama's VP, I imagine that this protection will be extended to her. But he may not pick a VP for weeks.

From Skinner's entry:

"We understand that not everyone will be prepared to immediately put the primaries behind us. There will be some jerks on the winning side who insist on gloating. And there will be some sore losers on the other side who will want to keep attacking the nominee. Once we have a presumptive nominee, those people will have one week to get it out of their systems. We believe that a one-week transitional period is more than fair for those of you who cannot switch gears easily or quickly. After this week-long adjustment period, we're done.

At that point, the moderators and admins will step in and shut down the primary infighting. The vast majority of people on this site will be glad to be done with the primaries. Sadly, a very small number of bitter partisans will not be able to let it go, and will likely be removed from this community. Few people will miss them when they are gone.

As usual, we will continue to permit constructive criticism of the Democratic nominee and of other Democratic candidates and officeholders. We will also continue to permit sincere, non-disruptive expressions of ambivalence toward the nominee. But we will not permit politically motivated attacks designed to tear down the Democratic presidential nominee.."

1. once the primary infighting is shut down,
one would imagine that that would extend to Senator Clinton.  That said, if things aren't clearly ended by this time next week, even with the presumptive nominee, I suspect that things won't be shut down as clearly here either.  But that's just a guess.

2. If we are smart, we would all promise to NOT post two types of posts:
1. Posts where the poster says they will not vote for Obama in November out of bitterness.

2. Posts which continue to harp on how supposedly horrible Hillary and her supporters are and how they must continue to be punished and ridiculed.

But that's only if we are smart.

3. #1 will not be allowed under the rules. #2 is mostly defined, but...
...it's not clear what will be allowed to pass as acceptable towards a sitting Democratic Senator and former First Lady that is no longer a Presidential Candidate. Not to mention her husband, who I believe is a former Democratic President.

Will DU still be the land of hating all things Clinton?
