RNC Already Using Clinton's Words Against Obama

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/06/rnc-already-usi.html

Those scamps at the Republican National Committee have posted a video on Youtube featuring Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, saying that Sen. Barack Obama, D-NY, lacks the experience necessary to be president.

"In this election we need a nominee who can pass the commander-in-chief test. Someone ready on Day One to defend our country and keep our families safe. And we need a president who passes that test…and when there's a crisis, when that phone rings, whether it's at 3 PM and 3 AM, in the White House there is no time for speeches and on-the-job training...

"Senator McCain will bring a lifetime of experience to the campaign, I will bring a lifetime of experience and Senator Obama will bring a speech that he gave in 2002.

"I think that is a significant difference. I think that since we now know Senator McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that.

"And I think it is imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold. And I believe that I've done that. Certainly, Senator McCain has done that. And you will have to ask Senator Obama with respect to his candidacy.”

"The video speaks for itself and goes to the central question that will be asked about Barack Obama," said an RNC official. "Democrats throughout the course of this primary campaign have questioned Sen. Obama's leadership and judgment and that will be a central part of the discourse we engage in with the American people."

7. She poisoned that well for herself with that unforgivable tactic.
Of course, if she does want a spot on the ticket, pointing that out to her will do nothing to stop her essential Veruca Salt-ness about it.

18. This concept escapes them:
You cannot TRASH someone for MONTHS and then DEMAND that they give you anything. The real world doesn't work that way. The Clintons have been so used to being able to use their power to bully people into submission. Well the power doesn't rest with them any more. THAT must be a really odd feeling for them.

You don't DEMAND anything from him. Behave like a decent human being and ask nicely and maybe he will be gracious enough to CONSIDER it.

3. She certainly said some things that should never have come out of a...
Democrats mouth toward another Democrat. Some of that shit is certain to come back to haunt us.

4. Yes. But Obama did that too
Had Hillary won you know the G.O.P. would have used the Obama ads saying that Clinton was willing to do or say anything for power.

Well, Mike Dukakis used George Herbert Walker Bush blasing Reagan's "Voo Doo Economics" against Reagan in his ads, and we know how well that ended up working.

8. This isn't anything I'm motivated to debate over now
I see it differently but it is moot. I'm backing Obama and want to stay focused on that.

11. No, she said both McCain and she had crossed the threshold..
.. and that Obama still had to meet the test. But CIC is only one of the hats that the President wears, so being a more experienced CIC does not mean a better president.

Obama should do his best to ensure to everyone that he can meet the challenges of CIC, and attack McCain on issues other than having the experience to be in charge of the military... like taxes, SS, healthcare...

9. Fine... put Wes Clark on the ticket.
He not only passes a more stringent "Commander-in-Chief" test than HRC, he also could bring several of her supporters over.

Take that. ;)

19. I think Wes is obviously a better choice than HRC, BUT...
I think Obama needs someone who is going to be a good PARTNER for him. Someone who supports him and has been in his corner. Webb, Wexler, Biden, Sebelius - any of these fit the bill. He has SO many people from her side trying to undermine him right now, I think he needs someone that will stand up and defend him from this bullshit... not acquiesce to her childish demands.

12. Well that was going to happen. If not this something else.
Now Obama needs to show why he is the nominee and get out on top of this. HE is the nominee, it is his job to make this a non-issue. He is not a victim remember?
