The end of big-donor politics?
For a long time I have been concerned, even jaded that national politics seemed to be the purview of those with big pocket books. Politicians, it seemed, were at the beck and call of big-money constituents and lobbyists, and if you didn't have big money or weren't part of a big-money lobby, you had no voice in national politics.

I'm hopeful that Obama's campaign is a sign of something new I had not expected. Money still rules Washington, but Obama has demonstrated that the people can speak with their dollars, too. Though they contribute small amounts individually, because they rally in such large numbers they have created, effectively, an ad hoc lobby.

So even if money is still the currency of power in our country, it seems The People have still found a way to have a voice in it, and Obama inspired it.
