Don't tell me you're a Clinton supporter.
Hillary Clinton isn't running for President. She has not been for several months now. And the great majority of Americans DO NOT WANT her to be President. Her name WILL NOT be on the ballot in November. So don't tell me you're a Clinton supporter.

Right now there are two people running: the Republican candidate John McCain and the Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

You have two choices: If you are a member of the Democratic party and/or wish to see John McCain lose on Election Day and/or simply care about seeing a positive future for this country - then by default your candidate is Barack Obama.

-or-

Your candidate is John McCain.

There is no other choice.

2. I agree. I also resent the implication from the media and the Clinton campaign
that Senator Clinton should be the Vice President

I would like to point out it was President Obama WHO WON the nomination, not Senator Clinton

It is President Obama who will make that decision, NOT Senator Clinton

4. If your choice is a) Obama, or b) McCain
...and you choose c) Hillary Clinton, what does that mean and what are you trying to accomplish?

I think that is a fair point raised by the OP, even as you glibly dismiss it.

5. I'm not.
I never have been.

Your post is demonstrably false, though. There are more than two people running, and all voters have more than 2 choices.

That's a fact. Deal with it.

16. The fact to deal with is that only Obama or McCain will be the next president of the U.S.
Those are the only 2 viable choices who will actually become our next president--Obama or McCain, one or the other. It will not be Hillary Clinton. The concept is very simple and will be in place here at DU. If you post opposition to the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, Barack Obama, then you will be considered as giving support to the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party, John McCain. Tombstones are currently being readied.

28. Being able to post on an internet site means absolutely nothing.
There are more than two choices for President this fall. That statement does not constitute a cause for tomb-stoning. There is no reason to be so blinded by your politics. There is a whole world out there that is not owned by the corporations. The political process in the US is owned by the corporations, so that makes everyone think that everything else is, too. But that is wrong...

34. Well, one part of that is true.
It will be Obama or McCain. They aren't the only choices to vote for, but the eventual winner will be one of the two.

It's also true that censorship of any criticism of the Democratic nominee will be in force.

Of course, I wasn't disputing those facts.

I'm disputing the statement baldguy made in the OP:

"Right now there are two people running: the Republican candidate John McCain and the Democratic candidate Barack Obama."

That is simply not true. There are several other candidates who will be on the ballot in November.

And, of course, this false statement:

"You have two choices: If you are a member of the Democratic party and/or wish to see John McCain lose on Election Day and/or simply care about seeing a positive future for this country - then by default your candidate is Barack Obama.

-or-

Your candidate is John McCain."

Every voter will have more than 2 choices; there will be more than 2 on the ballot.

There is no default candidate for any voter; each voter has free will and can make their own choice.

It's perfectly possible for any voter, including Democratic voters, to vote for neither of those two candidates.

I understand that the OP is using hyperbole to make a political point. I just don't think he should use the word "fact" to describe campaign propaganda.

That has nothing to do with any opposition I may or may not have toward either of the two major candidates, or whether or not I agree or disagree with the concepts behind the hyperbole. It's about intellectual integrity.

I guess we are going to toss them all if they refuse to knuckle under. Who needs 'em? We are trying a new political approach - very, very broad and wishy washy on actual principles and ideals, but very tight and restrictive on just who will be seen as an ally. We are going to enforce total conformity, and toss everyone else until we get down to a hard core of like-minded individuals - say about 10-15% of the population - we should be fine. How many do we need to win an election anyway?

Furthermore, she's won as many votes as Obama and there are plenty of people who prefer her to him. Yes, he limped to the nomination and more power to him, but he lost 8 of the last 15 primaries and all of them by wide margins (except for IN).

It might take you a few more days to get over the fact that Hillary's name will not be on the ballot in November.
It might take you a few months... I really don't care how long it takes for you.

Stay home in November, maybe you should vote for someone other than Obama... maybe you should not talk to any more males in the future -- just for the spite of it!

38. Obama is the "presumptive" nominee.
He is not the nominee until the convention. A lot can happen between now and then. If anymore dirt pops up on him, things could change. If the polls show more people think that Clinton would make a better president and candidate by then, the delegates could change their votes. I hope Clinton just suspends her efforts and takes it to the convention. She would make a much better president and she would be a stronger candidate against McCain. I'm really concerned that if Obama runs, he will lose. He would have a better chance if he asked Clinton to run with him as VP, but I would rather see a Clinton/Obama ticket.
