LOLPOLL - A new poll in North Carolina has Barr at 6%
Barr Could Stir Race in North Carolina

Raleigh, N.C. -- Now that the Libertarian Party is on the ballot in North Carolina, Bob Barr could have a real impact on the Presidential race in the state, according to the newest survey by Public Policy Polling.

Barr receives 6% of the vote ...

Obama is within three points of McCain now in North Carolina (40-43), thanks to Barr. This election year is beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

2. This is not a surprise to me. McCain not very popular here in NC
among conservatives. Again, NC is another state that can flip because it has a ton of young college folks and a motivated AA vote.

11. I agree. For that matter, I know of several folks in NC that will vote Barr if HRC is the Dem's VP
Please don't screw this up and give HRC anything but a kick on the ass on her way out the door. Putting her on the ticket in any fashion would be a disaster IRT cross-over voting.

3. Should we donate?
Give Barr money, the way some folks on the other side gave Nader money?

5. Barack will win NC.

Remember polling said Clinton closed to within 5 points right before the primary. He won by much more. They don't poll college aged voters.

7. Seconded!
Obama could do it all on his own, without Barr's help :D

8. Expect that number to go up as time goes by.
And what do you think that says about McCain's coattails?

9. still early
Remember that Nader was polling over 10% in some polls early in 2000 and ended up with less than 3%. People say one thing early but when it comes down to actually pulling the lever or marking the ballot, they often suck it up for the party.

12. True ... but I'm wondering if Barr will be a Nader or a Perot
Not like Perot in 1992, but rather in 1996. Perot won 8.4% of the vote in 1996, keeping Dole down to 40% nationwide. Many repubs are dissatisfied with McCain as their candidate, and if Barr takes 3% or 4% in certain states, we could see the same outcome as in 1996.

:D

13. Bob Barr is black.
So some people say.

This is from the same group that used to tell me years ago that Strom Thurmond had a black daughter.

I used to also see this as mere fantastic rumor.

But of course, that came out in the media as absolutely true.

Of course, Bob Barr's race doesn't matter except as his years of denying it.
