34 million votes cast, wall to wall media coverage, over $200 million raised
Millions of new voters, hundreds of thousands of volunteers...and that is just the Presidential Primary...

So the party is damaged how? We have picked up three special election seats, are expected to pick up 20 (or more) seats in the House, up to 8 Senate seats and yet the Democratic Party is a wounded beast about drop dead? Oh because we MIGHT lose the White House? Did you forget we have three branches of government and two to pick up control of?

Even if you are mad and hate Senator Clinton to the point of wanting her to be thrown out of the party (and admit it, some of you DO), even if you blame everything on Howard Dean (despite his having the idea of doing the fifty state strategy that did little to hurt and much to help BOTH candidates), the Party itself is in AMAZING shape.

So stop the stupid meme claiming this primary has done massive damage. It definitely has not.

1. BUT she is disrespectful of everything he has done to win the Primary.
It's not just about what she has done, it's also what she has SAID and continues to say on the night of his clinching the nomination.

Shame on you, Hillary Clinton.

10. like they let kerry's military service become an issue
when the reality was a shameful attack by a CLEARLY republican-funded bunch of liars.

then later, when a democrat made a joking comment about BUSH and the military, the media decided to go along with an outcry of faux outrage by republicans.

its this sort of media bias that is going to fighting against obama all the way

and they'd do the same against hillary too.

11. Point taken. I just wanted to be sure of what angle you were taking before I
said anything else... And I agree with you. It frightens me a little bit as well. The media has been all-too kind to John McCain and they will likely continue to be. We're fighting an uphill battle with these corporate monsters. Sigh...

I am a huge proponent of the extended (and HISTORIC) primary season. I loved my vote counting for something.

And I was DEFINITELY not one of the "Chicken Little" folks saying that the June 3rd Primaries were going to RUIN US IN NOVEMBER!!!1!!111!1

This is a historic year, and it will be an historic election.

14. I disagree. Turnout was high because there was a contest
Unless you mean to tell me that Obama threw ad dollars at the media just for fun.

15. There still is a contest for the general. McCain does have appeal for the
middle section of voters and Senator Obama has to make it through the Republican attack machine.

16. And that is what Primary funds are for.
Both camps energized new voters or people who had given up on voting a long time ago.

I have never been more proud to be a Democrat.

This year is going to F'in wail.

18. Knife-fight!
*stab stab*

Will it be a real knife fight, or will it devolve into a dance fight like it always does in musicals?
