Inform the Canadian - what did Hillary do exactly?
I'm seeing lots of comments, but no reason for the disgust... what happened?

2. In Candian terms
Imagine a hockey game had just ended. But one team keeps body checking the other team and taking shots on their goal.

I tried to come up with an analogy involving moose but couldn't think of one.

3. Implicitly demanded that Obama put her on the ticket
to show respect to her supporters.

Her narcissism is truly breathtaking.

4. If that's what Hillary was going to say, she should have said it tomorrow
and left tonight for the winners--even McCain.

Who do you think is going to get all the press attention tomorrow--Obama's victory speech or Hillary's spoiler?

20. Unfortunately she claimed the Stanley Cup
She gets to present it to Detroit or Pittsburgh. And her name goes on it for the next 4 years.

How do you feel? (Sarcasm on the internet is hard, I'm trying to be a friendly smartass and possibly insult the Wings at the same time).

8. As an Obama supporter, she gave a very nice speech but didn't concede, didn't throw support to Obama
She led up to it several times, then said she wasn't making a decision tonight. I figure she and he will make a speech together in the next couple days. If she doesn't throw her support behind him in another wk, then I'll slam her. But tonight she gave a really nice speech, sounding like a "goodbye and thanks for all the fish", but without saying goodbye.

9. Hillary gave a good speech to her supporters
She indirectly said she lost and a lot of people aren't accepting this because she was being positive to her campaign and didn't officially surrender tonight. The surrender will come within the next few days.

13. she came way too close for the comfort of too many Obama supporters...
and she brought some 18mil people with her; also, she didn't leave when they told her to...which is a capital/cardinal/deadly sin :(

17. How do you go from being inevitable to too close?
She lost this race weeks ago and that has nothing to do with Obama supporters. That was math.

15. She gave a campaign speech in a bunker which had no access
to real time information and led her audience to believe her campaign was still on. She didn't mention Montana where Obama won, and her audience, which was sort of captive 2 floors underground, had no reason to disbelieve her.

It was sad, in a way, because instead of doing that, she could have taken all the credit in the world for what she has really accomplished. Instead, she was mean and had left herself open to a lot of criticism for being so ungenerous. I don't see how this performance will put her closer to the VP spot that she seems to want.

16. She lost and refused to admit she lost, so her "peeps" think she can still win...somehow
I guess she's still hoping "someone" will do something catastrophic... She and mcauliffe have been hoping for just such an event..everytime they get on camera..

Part of winning in US politics, is the LOSER conceding...gracefully and in a complimentary manner..even though they don't really mean it..

It's the FINAL event that makes the winner legitimate..Until the loser admits he/she lost, they are still preceived to be "in it"...opposing the actual winner..

18. It wasn't THAT bad, just a few final selfish shots
about how people who voted for her asked themselves who would be the strongest candidate and the strongest president and ready on day 1. Red meat to make herself and her audience feel good (and shout "Denver", although that was later), but she should have been able to be proud without being antagonistic, and she didn't quite do it.

23. She used the same old, same old talking points

** She "won" the popular vote (if you don't count EVERYTHING)

** She "won" more electoral votes :wtf:

** She fought to make sure every vote was counted even when people wanted her to get out of the race (boolsheet; she said it'd be over by Feb 5, but I guess she doesn't worry about being struck by lightning)

** As was said, she was announced as "The next president of the United States" - more :wtf: - even though Obama just won the damned nomination and closed her speech with the song "I Won't Back Down".

If she's supposed to be talking unity, it's an ass-backwards way to do it sending mixed signals that she's still fighting.

Bleh.

28. Well for me it started with her fundraiser with Rupert Murdock.
Then there were things like her favorably comparing John McCain to Barack Obama. Her attempt to change the rules of the game in the middle of the game. Her endorsement by Richard Mellon Scaife. And both her and Bill appearing on right-wing shows like O'Reilly and Limbaugh's. I mean there's only so much a liberal can stand.
