Hillary doesn't want to be VP, but doesn't want Obama to pick
another woman. Howard Fineman on MSNBC is saying that sources have told him that Hillary doesn't want to be VP, but Obama will offer it to her based on the assurance that she won't accept. And, the Clintons want assurances that Obama will not choose another woman as his VP.

1. I don't believe that....
I mean I think Hillary would rather be president...but I don't think she would turn down VP.

That's nuts. And she's not stupid.

I wouldn't turn down VP.

2. uh...why?
I expect Obama to choose whoever he thinks will be best on his ticket, and if that's a woman, then that's who he should pick.

I don't think Obama should let Clinton push him into selecting what demographic he is or is not allowed to choose from.

7. I agree
It's funny, but I told my DH weeks ago that this might happen. Be offered VP just to say she turned it down.

3. So she doesn't want Obama to cheat on her, is that it?
Some weird psychoanalysis can be had here.

5. If this is true....
Then Clinton is no friend to the women's movement.

10. Feinman:" Kabuki theatre. " She does not want it . He does NOT want her.
But she is trying to force his hand and make him ask. Said Obama's camp says they will only offer it to her ONLY on the guarantee from her that she will not take it. Pure appearance and Clinton Egos. She is pulling shit to the very last hours-- Obama's camp initially wanted a formal sit-down with her to talk about it and warned her not to try to game things via conference calls with reporters in the meantime. She did just that today, pre-empting him on any such meeting. Put it out on the calls she would "consider it". The idea being that if he never gets around to asking her, she will say she was willing to be "Team Player" and he's the villain who shut her out.

So now he *has to*, for Ego's sake only. So sez Feinman.
