House Majority Whip James Clyburn Endorses Obama
One more superdelegate, and a big one. The most senior Congressional leader to endorse yet:

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn is endorsing Barack Obama for president.

The South Carolina congressman told The Associated Press on Monday that he has started to phone the state's superdelegates to ask them to get behind one candidate. When asked whether that candidate was Obama, Clyburn said yes.

4. You know, of course, that Clyburn will be deemed "unimportant" by Hillary and her campaign....
However, *I* think it is a big strike against the legitimacy of Hillary's campaign, and I think it will give cover for other politicians to now endorse Obama.

I cannot imagine there are many Dem congressional Dems running for reelection that aren't secretly thinking a continuing mantra of "Hillary-shut-up-shut-up-shut-up."

11. Not At All. Clyburn's Been Crucial InThe Propaganda War Against Clinton
I'm sure Hillary Clinton is painfully aware that Clyburn endorsed Obama in all but name, months ago.

19. You've Made Me So Very Sad This Cycle
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 06:54 PM by Crisco
With the personal attacks. This isn't the first time you've implied me a racist, or inferred racial-negative intent against another from one of my posts when none was there, and there's nothing I can do about that. It's your decision.

20. Mr. Clyburn has been a Clinton ally for years. He has paid his dues.
As a member of the House Leadership, he's been obliged to withhold an endorsement. For ALL of 2007, he was openly supportive of Hillary Clinton ... short of an endorsement. Mr. Clyburn is no fool and he is VERY experienced with racist politics and Jim Crow. He is NOT one to imagine things. Not at all.

To claim he's been instrumental in a "propaganda war" is to infer he's been deceitful - that he's taken stances contrary to the facts. He has NOT.

21. Running Propaganda Is Not Necessarily Contradicting Facts
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 09:44 PM by Crisco
Rather, it's usually taking some facts and misrepresenting them in such a way that it benefits your agenda.

You appear to disbelieve he has done that, and I am convinced otherwise.
