She went the distance.
Tomorrow the final votes will be cast, and Senator Clinton will have run the marathon. All of it. She has proven that a woman can go the distance. And I'm betting my bottom dollar that her passion and determination will be focused on winning the White House for the Democratic nominee in November. If I'm right, we can't lose. In the end, It's my belief that we'll all be singing her praises before this election is finished.

1. And I'm still thinking Edwards is going to pull it out.
Honestly, he has as much claim to it as she does. They both lost.

5. 17,916,763 people have voted for Hillary Clinton to be the nominee
How many votes did Edwards get while he was promising to stay in this race "all the way to the Convention"? :eyes:

3. We can hope, but nothing in her past suggests she will.
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 08:50 AM by TexasObserver
She's in it for Hilly, and always has been. She's been a destructive force, purposely attempting to create a schism in the party that can't be repaired in the near term. I will presume she is evil and malevolent until she proves THIS TIME she's different.

21. IWR, Patriot Act, NCLB, Kyle-Lieberman, etc. etc., ad nauseum
There is are many reasons why people are rejecting Hillary, and actually doing harm to this country and the American people is one of them.

and her crummy campaign strategy. Over by Super Tuesday, ya right...

4. Agreed.
No matter who we, as individuals support, you gotta hand it to Hill. She hung in there like a trooper and I hope that she gets kudos for it.

7. She's going the distance...She's going for speed...
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 08:54 AM by sfam
He's all alone
In his time of need.
Because shes racing and pacing and plotting the course,
Shes fighting and biting and riding on her horse,
Shes going the distance.

No trophy, no flowers, no flashbulbs, no wine,
She's haunted by something she cannot define.

Bowel-shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse,
Assail her, impale her with monster-truck force.
In her mind, shes still driving, still making the grade.
Hes hoping in time that his memories will fade.

Cause she's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
Shes fighting and biting and riding on his horse.
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up,
And long ago somebody left with the cup.
But shes striving and driving and hugging the turns.
And thinking of someone for whom she still burns.

8. I bet she doesn't contribute ANY effort to getting Obama elected.
She tried everything she could to undermine him in the primaries, why would you think for one second she will help him in the GE?

And what happens if McSame picks her as VP?

10. If she hadn't invoked assassination I would have agreed with you
but sadly she has shown her true colors with that statement. The best thing that could happen to her is to retire all together from politics.

13. That was the last straw with me as well.
Let's just say I am very relieved that she will not be the nominee and I will not have to make that soul-searching choice...

15. What would have happened if Kerry had her determination?
He folds minutes after an obviously stolen election. She never ever ever gives up. I don't care much for her but I do admire her focus and gumption!

17. Good point.
She is tenacious and she would make a good VP for Obama. I think people who say McCain may pick her for his VP are being ridiculous. She is a Democrat and he is a Repuke in every sense of the word.

Anyway - I tend to agree with you.

19. Uh, yeah. She can't repair she damage she's done in the next five months
She spent the spring tearing down our nominee and trying to convince white voters not to vote for him. What can she say in the next five months to reverse that?

Disgusting.
