4. Humans.
We'd prefer that Hollywood studios cast our personal favorite actors in roles in films, despite the reality that few of us are contacted on casting decisions.

We'd prefer that Coach Smith start quarterback Miller instead of quarterback Jones, but Coach Smith seldom rings us up for our input.

Pretty much the same for politics. Our ideal president, or Senator, or Congresswoman is not always the one our fellow Democrats select in a primary, and in many instances not the one our fellow state voters, or national voters, choose for the Senate or the Oval Office.

If we had quality control buttons at our disposal based on our personal vision and preferences, no one like Dick Nixon, Ronald Reagan, or anyone named 'Bush' would ever be in public service at any level.

Evan Bayh would be more liberal than he is, and Ben Nelson. Etc.

Rush Limbaugh would be off the air.

Most of my first-choice Democrats in primaries from a long time ago did not wind up being the nominee.

This year feels different to some because it's now instead of back then, but the emotion is basically the same and the emotion is basically human.

If we all woke up tomorrow, if Clinton and Obama both withdrew from the race, and Chris Dodd ran with max Cleland in November and won, we'd all be just fine with it eventually.

9. This Democratic household will of course vote for Obama.
But, we are profoundly affected by the farcical nomination process and affected because many Hillary backers are so bitter and some unfortunately racist. They seem impossible to convince to vote for their best interests. So many who always vote Democratic say they are gonna sit it out. / The primary process needs be re-worked to make the struggle less intense, less money intensive, less dependent upon headlines and the horse race aspects. / While we are going to vote Obama, we find the process unrepresentative and we are saddled with flawed candidates. / Our pique with Obama. His call to increase defense spending, a lousy health care plan and lack of specifics about most everything. His chant to give us change. How about less sloganeering and give us specifics.

25. Rather than "McCainablers," "McCain-enablers."
Not only does it sound more complete, it brings the whole sound of the phrase "Cain and Abel" in. And for those of us who like that biblical imagery, well, it's perfect.

As a Democrat, you believe you are your brother's keeper. But those who vote for a Republican figuratively slay their own brother. Now they will always bear the mark. Even if it's one that keeps the Republicans from killing them.

27. You mean the best name to call them in
the juvenile name-calling blame game sure to start immediately upon the coronation of a candidate, designed to allow the adolescent urge to gang warfare to proliferate, and to win the blame game when the candidate selected by the majority doesn't win?

I've got a better name for those who think that's a great idea: bullies.

That kind of bullying is likely to lose more votes than it wins, so let's be more specific: moronic bullies.

The Democratic Party loses more of my respect every time the majority refuses to be accountable for their own votes. If the nominee can't win, it's the fault of the nominee and the majority who chose to nominate him or her, not the fault of the voters who were taken for granted or thrown under the bus. Assuming a clean election process and vote count, of course.

Nobody owes the nominee a vote. Votes are earned. Why not go out and earn some, instead of trying to engage in more divisive bullshit?

Even better, if you already think you're going to lose, and need to gear up for this war before the nomination is even official, why not put all of that excess energy where it might do some good?

Instead of battling voters who don't agree with you, if you want warfare, take on the issue of election fraud and corruption. Without confronting and cleaning up that mess, you won't win anyway.

I'm a Democrat if Hillary Wins... if not, then i'm not voting or i'm voting for McCain.

So, I really have no investment in the party as a whole - or the parties values, but merely in seeing MY candidate win. If she doesn't, I will cry, pout & throw things to "surely" get the DNC to see that they were wrong and I was right all along.

61. "Independent Thinkers" or "Non-Sheeple"....
I view voting as each American's honor and responsibility to vote for the person they believe would best do the duties of the elected office.

I believe that if we simply vote for whomever has a (D) in front of their names, we are giving away the only real power we have in our government: voting.

If we simply vote for anybody with a (D) in front of their name, we are also giving the media and the DNC a tremendous amount of power, at the expense of We the Peeps.

I know this is an opinion that will not be allowed to be voiced here after DU declares the primary over, and I may end up taking a posting vacation from DU until after the election. I really like this forum and would not like to be permanently banned just because I believe differently than DU admin on this issue.

People like you should not even be allowed to vote because you take the time to come up with name calling as if this does actually help voting when it really drives a wedge even deeper.

whatever your opinion of people who voted for bush should apply to ANYONE who votes for McCain as well. I dunno, maybe you thought of Bush supporters as true patriots who only want the best for all of us, evidence to the contrary. Or maybe just good folk with good judgement. so, what DID you think of Bush voters? Or CAN you answer the question knowing that it would now apply to a portion of hillary supporters who can't get past the fact that she lost and will vote against logic and better judgment simply because of bruised egos?

Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 02:59 PM by blues90
people who wanted to benefit and profit off wars and rob the people for whatever they could get . Patriots, certainly not. Also these are people who don't care about or believe in this country.

I feel there is a portion of Hillary supporters who my have hurt ego's but for the most part I don't feel this applies to the majority of Hillary supporters. They, in my opinion feel she is the best candidate.

On the other hand I do also feel there are many Obama supporters who are well over the edge and will do what they claim Hillary supporters are doing.

There are many ways to look at these primaries if one chooses to include all the options, you can easily say there exists racism and sexism and I do believe this plays a part. You can say they are trying to make history as well .

One can always say they are politicians playing the political game and both sides have their players out there.

This is not what I take this poll to be. This is not what this poll is about.

This poll plays on emotions and attempts to get a reaction, this is what I disagree with.

Isn't there enough of this already with Hilbots and Obaminites, what purpose does it serve?

I see the OP is a Obama supporter by the avatar, is this how people who support Obama feel and is this how these supporters want to look and is this what Obama himself would support. It does not make some Obama supporters look very good willed or commited. It makes it look like some childish game.

I feel there are true democrats out there that don't support any of the three candidates and are sick of the way the government does business and that there is now a one party system.
