The Michelle Obama rumor was started by a strong Hillary backer
Since this is DU I am not going to put a link for Larry Johnson's dump.

I am sorry to post this link however which is pretty much when this ugly rumor surfaced back two weeks ago:

http://www.townhall.com/blog/g/e7ba27ab-7e83-4ecb-bef1-7e55cde4f8c3

So it has been 2 weeks since Larry Johnson who is a backer for Hillary has claimed that there is such a damning tape against Michelle Obama. He is using the presence of such a tape as an excuse for Hillary's stay in this race. Would you not think if this was remotely true then this tape would have been released by now?

What is more sad is to see some Hillary supporters on DU, repeat Sean Hannity's talking points or accuse the members of not being concerned about the presence of some mythical tape!

Here is more on Larry Johnson's profile in wikipedia:

2008
In 2008, Johnson has emerged as a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton and a strong critic of Barack Obama. He has "briefed Senator Clinton" and has dedicated several blog entries to praising her, even writing that "she is gracious, charming, and can laugh at herself."<32><33><34> He claimed on May 8 that "Hillary has more popular votes."<35> On March 30 he wrote that "Hillary has not used invective or insult of any kind against Obama or anyone associated with his campaign. Hillary has fought to eliminate such vile talk from the public arena."<36>
Johnson has devoted several blog entries to examining Obama's past and has concluded that Obama has "Memory Loss", "is lying about significant portions of his life", and is "deliberately deceptive and misleading."<37><38><39> Johnson has asserted that "Obama and his campaign are working hard to obfuscate and cover up".<40>
On May 14, 2008, after Obama appeared to lock up the Democratic nomination, Johnson wrote "Hillary needs to stay in the campaign till the end because by the time August rolls around the damage to Barack will be so significant that rational folks will realize he is unelectable notwithstanding the mess Republicans have made of things. My advice? Patience. Let Barack have his codpiece, 'Mission Accomplished' moment. Like George Bush, he will rue his strutting and preening and declaring premature victory. Reality will intrude."<41>
On May 16, 2008, Johnson reported having contact with three Republican insiders and another unspecified source who claim the existence of a videotape of Michelle Obama, Barack Obama's wife, speaking at the Trinity United Church of Christ and using the term "whitey" on multiple occasions."<42> Johnson reported that the tape would be worth $1 million to anyone who could provide a copy to an unnamed billionaire Republican." <43>

Mods please do not close this thread as I am trying to alarm the members here of this conspiracy against Obama.

16. I think you are correct. Witness Rush's "operation chaos" call for violence in the streets of Denver
these people are certainly not "above" planting psyops in the so-called "Hillary supporter" camp,
attempting to sow so much disunity among Dems as to distract from McSame's sorry-ass campaign fuck-ups,
and from McSame's lobbyist issues, etc.

This is the GOP's ONLY chance and they are going for it big-time with Hillbots on the front lines.

un-fucking-believable.

and I swear I'd never seen such hate in my life. I didn't see pro-Hillary on the couple threads I read, I saw Obama hate. HATE
It wasn't normal insults we see here for Clinton or Obama. It wasn't even like Obama bashing and lies on rw sites. It was calling horrible names and the danger he is and he will never be president and the great thing if he wins nomination is to see the arrogant monster crushed and humiliated. Only much worse

I've seen Johnson's articles in other places since he is seen as credible and they are twisted lies with himself as the source

38. That's what is so stupid. I don't think I have ever heard a real black person ever say "whitey".
That is some shit you see in a movie that a white screenwriter wrote thinking black people actually say it. A black person would sooner call a white person "motherfucker", "punk bitch", "punk ass motherfucker" before "whitey" even crosses their mind. And Michelle is just too classy to even go there. Who would be STUPID enough to say something like that? Even J. Wright didn't say "whitey".

It's sort of like, "hey bro man, what's happenin', give me five on the black side, let's boogy on down and get on the town".

Black people don't TALK like that.

GEESH. America really needs to get educated about the average black person. If you're gonna make up lies, at least make them CREDIBLE. You're one size fits all lies out of the old school playbook about politicians won't work on Obama.

23. "On July 23, 2005, when Johnson spoke to the nation on behalf of Democrats..."
in the party's weekly radio address, he said that he believes a letter of recommendation from Republican Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) helped to "open doors" for him at the CIA.<2> A registered Republican who supported President Bush in 2000, in his Democratic Radio Address broadcast on July 23, 2005, Johnson criticized the Bush administration for their role in the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame.<3> In addition to his differences with Republicans in the Plame matter, Johnson is also an outspoken opponent of the Iraq War<4> He was also featured in the 2004 political documentary Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism.<5> Since Robert Novak's controversial disclosure of Valerie Plame as a CIA operative in July 2003, Johnson has contributed to public discourse on intelligence matters, often sparking further controversy. He has been interviewed by both the mass media and the alternative media and published commentary on the Plame affair, the controversy concerning Mary McCarthy, and the resignation of Porter Goss as Director of Central Intelligence."

45. Good point.
Why even start it? To get the tongues wagging I guess.

I guess we have three dates to wonder about this alleged tape.

If I don't hear anything by Thursday on it, then I figure it's a bust and won't worry my head on it in August or October. At that point Hillary would/shoudl be endorsing Obama so if it doesn't come out in the next three days or this week...it's a fraud or Hillary will look like a fool when endorsing Obama and this is true.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's untrue already, but I never know what sort of surprises await us until Nov. Ever since Huckabee, Clinton, and Trotta spouted their non-sense, I've been nervous.

to chill to give her time. She doesn't want to be thoroughly embarassed on Tuesday and doesn't want a ball to drop. She needs to time and circulating a false rumor to make the superdelegates wait is what she is doing. Who cares if the "evidence" never comes forth because she will be achieving her goal of making them wait in the meantime. She is HOPING something real comes out. She is hoping that the superdelegates "wake up".

Never gonna happen.

48. The Golden question: Why would the leaker use this never was to push the story...
...instead of a more common outlet like Hannity or Drudge, etc? The answer: because it will be easy to throw this away if it doesn't stick without permanently damaging one of their star players. They can just say "we were mislead by this guy, he claimed his sources were airtight" and essentially wash their hands of it. Not so if they use one of their star hitters to leak something they know has no legs.

The most insidious part of all this, is that they know the rumor itself is good enough to fool a couple percent of people or better into spreading the BS (even if it's disproven) ala the bogus Muslim charges that STILL circulate to this day among low information voters.

Obama is Muslim.

What kills me, is that who benefited from and used it when she knew the truth and even attended mass with Obama? Hillary Clinton. Damnit, that woman annoys me. I'm sorry to say I'm starting to think that some of the Hillary supporters are coming out of the calculated hate-filled implications that Hillary herself has used to her advantage in order to get rid of another candidate.

He was so awesome during the Plame affair, trial etc; he defended Valerie Plame before Congress; he's gone on Keith's show to skewer bushco countless times... and now, this filth on his blog? It is quite troubling, puzzling and strange. Joe Wilson to a lesser extent - his articles have at least remained basically civil - but the two are definitely in the same camp, and it does make one wonder just what the hell is going on.

60. Larry Johnson has rocks in his head.
If anything like this truly exists, it would have come out long ago, probably during her 'proud of my country' gaffe. They're firing blanks.

61. That's true...
Or even during her whole "assasination" gaffe. Or any of his. Why wait until the nominee is selected? They could have taken him out, so to speak, months ago. This rumor has beeen circulating for a month. So even if they got it a month ago and they were verifying sources, when the whole Michigan/Florida thing went to the DNC---they could have come with this news and stopped all that stuff from counting and send it all toe Obama. Also any delegates left would go straight to Obama. End it there. This is just not adding up with so many loopholes.
