It's going to the Convention.
Unless there is a deal made? Hillary, you can have the VP job or I will nominate you as Supreme Court Justice if you prefer?

7. No problem.
The Party is split into. John McCain wins the election. And we get four more years of George W Bush. Brilliant.

so be it. If Clinton and her fans are playing that way, then I guess we go down together.

But I for one am not going to be held hostage.

4. A meaningless statement. Obama will have the delegates necessary to control the floor
by the end of the week. Everything else is blowing smoke. What's she going to do when she gets there, bang on pots and pans?

a confirmation hearing for the SC or ANY cabinet position.

She's over.

...The SuperD's will give Obama the delegates he needs by next Wednesday (if not before) and the party will gently walk Hillary to the door.

13. Looking forward to it
If handled properly, Dems will look good and will give the country a lesson in how the democratic process works.

We have to remember that using the Convention as a coronation is a fairly recent phenomenon. I grew up watching Dems do the regular business of choosing a candidate at their Convention. It will be nice to see them revert to tradition.

16. No--I think the Democratic Party spoke today. And it said, we will have a nominee, and
we will follow the rules. That means delegates will decide the nomination, and the winner of those delegates will be Obama. And that will be it.

17. But what does that really mean? I tried to ask this earlier, but only got a single response...
...if the majority of delegates are Obama supporters, won't they be in control of committee assignments? If she takes her issues to an Obama controlled credentials committee, so what? What can she do?

24. Screw Clinton & those who support her divisive tactics
They dont deserve ANYTHING except the further ruination of this country at the hands of the corporate owned whores called the GOP.

If thats what they really want, Im fine with that.

When they lose their jobs, the right to choose, when a family member gets sent back to Iraq, they wont have anyone to blame but themselves.

32. Hillary has the power
to give the election to McCain if she wants to by sabotaging Obama.

Should she? Of course not.

Will she? Will she threaten to? Only a traitor to the party would. Hillary!

37. Let Me Use My 1,000th Post To Try To Calm You Down
The problem with taking it to the convention now is that she has to gather MORE support -- but after today, she's only going to erode support. If anything, I now think the more she pushes, the fewer votes she'll get at the convention, and the more people she will repulse. There may be a few folks who lock in their support so stubbornly they'll refuse to vote for Obama, but after today they'll look sadder and more bitter (like in the video that Jane from Firedoglake just uploaded).

Hillary won't be on the ticket, though I still see the possibility of one of her supporters (Rendell? Strickland? Clark?) in the VP slot. But this was the end of the DLC, the end of Clintonian influence, the end of the Clinton era today.

She'll go to Denver. She may even squawk a little. But I'm with those who say this broke their influence irrevocably on the party.

Forget about what Hillary does from here on out. Our task is to win every vote we can, and we should now no longer care about what Hillary does in that regard.

It's November 4. Focus on that. Not her.
