Single best analogy I've ever read describing our primary
was someone in a comments section somewhere who wrote that Hillary trying to claim victory by superiority is just like a team who loses the Super Bowl but who appeals the decision because they had more first downs, more completions, more yardage, more interceptions and they were by far the best team on paper. Oh, but they lost. By POINTS.

Hillary needs to understand and accept that the Democratic Primaries are won and lost with DELEGATES.

1. Except that it's all false, yah....

To extend that analogy, it would be like "We've got more yards - if you count all of the passes that were ruled out of bounds!"

3. Well, that's also a part of it
when the statistics you are quoting are questionable, that adds a whole other element. But I don't even think it's a necessary element. Political races and sports competitions have to be able to be decided on a clear and uambiguous standard - like POINTS or like DELEGATES.

Hillary may sincerely believe she is the best candidate, but the best team doesn't always win. It is the BETTER team,on a particular day, in a particular circumstance, that wins. It's the team that racks up the POINTS.

4. She's like the Detroit Tigers, Mets, and Mariners
Before a game was ever played everyone said how good they would be. Than the season started and they were terrible.

Lot of all star players that performed terribly as a team.

15. Nope
We'll do better 4th place means we get to play all the 4th place teams. Wild card berth at least.

Plus we will have the best secondary in all of football.

9. In reality, it is more like a boxing match in which neither boxer scored a knockout.
And it gets left up to the judges.

Except in this case, the judges can register their votes before the fight is over, and they can use whatever criteria that they would like to use. They could go for which one of them looks like they could go another 15 rounds, or by who hit the other the most, who knocked the other down the most, who won over the crowd, whatever they would like in order to pick the boxer most likely to win their next match.

"In reality it is more like (insert something that, in reality, it ISN'T)"

Funny way to make the point you were making.

13. That's right
Everyone needs to see "Unbought and Unbossed" the documentary about Shirley Chisholm's presidential campaign in 1972.
Only to hear her talking about delegates and spelling it out D-E-L-E-G-A-T-E-S
She won some and when she released them, she asked them to vote for McGovern.
It's a a great documentary and shows some of the interworkings of that tight election.

16. Hillary describing her winning "metrics."...

is like the way the NFL determines the best offense and defense each year. They used yards gained (offense) and yards allowed (defense). But the most important determining factor for offensive and defensive effectiveness are points scored and points allowed.

Hillary's campaign has gained the most yards. But Obama's campaign has scored the most points.
