Sorry if this is a dupe but this was news to me. Lieberman, how much lower can he sink, wait don't answer that.

Updated: Lieberman & Graham Serve on Policy Board of Advisors for an Anti-Obama 527
by Steven R

Sun May 25, 2008 at 12:23:19 PM PDT

This runs directly contradictory to Senator John McCain's policy to remove any persons from his campaign who work openly with or for any 527 Organizations.

Vets for Freedom Policy Board of Advisors
Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT), Honorary
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Honorary

This is a Smear Group using an Injured Vet openly in a slime commercial accusing Barack Obama directly of not meeting with veterans while wanting to meet with people who "Hate" America.

11. Because it's so obvious it's not news any more?
Man, I really wish Lamont had unseated him in the last election. Whenever I talk with republicans they love to bring him up as an example for a guy who's 'seen the light'. But nowadays I mention how McCain is so bipartisan and they fall into a frothing rage. Another good way to annoy a conservative is to mention Arnol Schwarzenegger, who they now deride as a euro-socialist.

12. I read yesterday that they stepped down
Of course this doesn't excuse them from being on the board. They only left after they were found out.

{snip}

Senators Joseph I. Lieberman and Lindsey Graham, prominent surrogates for Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign, stepped down Wednesday from their positions with an independent group that released a pair of Internet advertisements attacking Senator Barack Obama on Iraq.

Mr. Lieberman, independent of Connecticut, and Mr. Graham, Republican of South Carolina, were both on the policy advisory board to the organization, Vets for Freedom, which on Wednesday released its second Web advertisement in less than a week attacking Mr. Obama.

The senators’ positions with the group, which describes itself as a grass-roots advocacy organization pushing for victory in Iraq and Afghanistan, seemed to place them in contravention of new conflict-of-interest rules released by Mr. McCain’s campaign that specifically prohibit anyone “with a McCain campaign title or position” from participating in a “527 or other independent entity that makes public communications that support or oppose any presidential candidate.”

After inquiries from reporters, the senators released a joint letter to Vets for Freedom on Wednesday saying they had requested a leave from their positions to come into compliance with the new policy.
