Bush In Disgrace
Bush isn't leaving much of a legacy: a few failed wars, tax breaks that made nothing happen, deepening social divisions, and world contempt for American leadership. Fans of good government won't find anything redeeming about the Bush presidency.

Look for genuine conservatives to start jumping ship. The right wing isn't necessarily irrelevant, but it has become so during the Bush years. With a backlog of problems waiting to be solved, pragmatic Americans look for solutions from any source. True conservatives will push to be heard.

After losing the election because of numerous policy failures, a humiliated George Bush will retreat to Texas and stay out of sight for a least a decade. This is the one hopeful outcome of our present difficulties.

2. Well, he's been a failure his whole life
So it's not much of a change. He should've tried to stick with something he's good out than trying to be a leader which he stinks at. Maybe, I don't know, concentrating on being a father or something.

He was born on third base and thought he hit a triple.

3. Nixon, A Statesman at the End
Nixon never was anything but a scumbag. In his later years, Democrats went along with the press in floating Nixon's alleged "rehabilitation". And why not? There was nothing to be gained by further humiliating a broken, humiliated former president. Clinton entertained Nixon at the White House, and gave a generous speech at Nixon's funeral.

Today, Bush is hated as much as Nixon was hated. Although time doesn't heal all wounds, people tend to move on. Bush will always be a scumbag, but in years to come people will associate him with earlier times in their own lives. However, he will continue to need Secret Service protection. Some will not forget.
