Great NYT article about obama's security. *Pics Inside*
http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2008/02/25/us/politics/20080225SECURITY_index.html

Here are some pics of obama rallies, but they focus on the security guards instead of obama himself. the result is a pretty interesting and relevant perspective, and the pics themselves are well done. more at the link.

Agents stood guard as Mr. Obama held a town hall-style meeting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

When Mr. Obama marched in Columbia, S.C., on Martin Luther King's birthday, he was surrounded by Secret Service agents and followed by a van that could be used to whisk him away in the event of an emergency.

This agent was watching the exit and keeping an escape route clear as he waited for Mr. Obama to finish at a rally in St. Louis.

A security guard patrolled behind bleachers as Mr. Obama spoke at a rally in Florence, S.C.

A law enforcement agent watched an Obama rally from the upper deck of Bartow Arena at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

9. Thank you for posting the photos...
I think of his protection many times and have noticed that as many as 5 surround him at many rallies, as he works the crowd.

It is a sad commentary on the status of today's America, but I'm hoping that, along with the SS agents, the "people" who are pulling for Obama to win this election will also be alert and prevent anything horrible from happening.

Such a treasure.

..he declared his candidacy, he got some sort of threats but (shameful) - still, thank doggies for those SS folks!

15. I've read that they have 'layers' of security
They didn't go into the specifics, for obvious reasons. This came up when there was a lot of concern after a Dallas rally, I think it was, that they had let some people in without going through metal detectors.
