OK, so this was the last straw.
I have been an Obama supporter for some time now, but was OK with Hillary. But this latest little dustup about comments she made related to RFK's assassination was the living end for me. She wants the nomination so badly that sound judgment seems to have gone by the wayside. The stress seems to be getting to her. Maybe I have never wanted anything that badly, so I can't relate; I don't know. All I do know is that now I don't want her on the ticket at all. If I have to, I'll vote for her in November while holding my nose, because the only thing worse would be McSame in office. Hillary, darling, leaving the field because you have been defeated is not the same thing as quitting. It's time to accept the fact that it's over. Think of the party. You don't really want to see McCain being sworn in next January do you?

1. The moment for me was march and her mccain remark
before then I said I would hold my nose and vote for her but after that I didn't feel like she deserved any democratic loyalty since she didn't have any herself, if it helped her to win.

I just hope this is the end of the primary.

I also hope this marks the end of the "southern strategy" for democrats and they can build a strong coalition in western states to offset pandering to the bubba vote. For that reason, I would love to see Bill Richardson as v.p.

3. Me too
When she said McLame was more qualified than Obama, that was the line that made me become an Obama supporter and start sending him money. And though I would love to see Bill Richardson as Secretary of State, I would be okay with him in the veep spot.

2. You know, I've stayed out of this for the past day (for obvious reasons)...
but I want to say this. The Republicans wanted the Democrats to fight amongst each other this election cycle. They got what they wanted. So instead of fighting each other, we should all finally back Barack Obama for President, forget about Hillary, and move on. Together, we can win the White House in January.

Together.

6. Her speaking style closed the deal for me, silly as that may sound.
But it's the honest truth. It wasn't her policy positions, her experience, or anything so high-minded. I only had to listen to her speak a few times and not only did I know that I didn't want her to be my president, I knew (or at least I recall that I knew...) that she was not going to win the nomination. There were just three things that I heard when listening to her, a trifecta, if you will: The ums, the you knows, and the laugh. That was it.

9. Don't worry. Next week there will be a new last straw
for Obama supporters. We will go back to Defcon 2 and everyone will yell about the new outrage. This will go on until the convention, or until one candidate drops out. DU's Obama supporters have to be outraged or life is just not worth living for them.

10. Criminy. Until one candidate drops out? Are you serious?
What a sorry, slanderous post.

You think it is in the realm of possibility that either of the two candidates could drop out? If I were to use a marathon analogy, that would be like a runner dropping out 1/2 mile from the finish line when the nearest competitor is 3 miles back.

11. Anything can happen in politics.
If you have been observing for any length of time, you know that.

I am not predicting that one will drop out. I am just saying that the infighting will be going on here until one candidate is chosen. And there is nothing slanderous about my post. I am merely pointing out the silliness of the Outrage of the Day/Week/Month people on DU.
