Let's not get all weepy and apologetic about our comments to Kerry yesterday over his bush response. The reason everyone got pissed is mostly because Kerry has not even allowed Teresa to untie the gloves from his hands. He needs DESPERATELY to spend a portion of each day (in front of national cameras) using perhaps just a leeetle bit of the trainload of ammo (ie: verified facts) that is at his fingertips concerning the bush administration. If he starts now, he might get 1/50th of it out by november. Who the fu-- does he think he's running against? Jimmy Carter? BALLS! cried the queen. (teresa) GO FOR THE BALLS, MAN!
(My husband asked to write this so if you have to delete I understand!) He was very angry yesterday.
a little repuke ass kicking is definitely in order.
Go on the offensive. Hit him hard today where he ain't expecting it. When he tries to cover himself hit him harder in three different spots. Bush is soft, and he's mentally slow. Knock him off his message. Make him say stupid things. Tape those things and run them in ads so people hear them and think "WTF??". Make him look like the fool he is before he goes into his pitiful convention.
2. I think Clinton pointed to the right strategy for this
When they make hypocritical, baseless or outright lying attacks it gives you the opportunity to hit back without seeming negative. People love someone who will defend themself and they hate unjust attacks.
If it was me I would have a whole stack of soundbites like these ready to fire (in response to reporters questions which repeat allegation the other side has made):
"They are trying to divert attention from their failure to get the economy on track. And you're helping them."
"If I had a record like theirs to run from I wouldn't want to talk about the real issues either."
