Advice: Never post when you're angry
Edited on Thu May-22-08 03:30 PM by Cyrano
So ignoring my own advice, I'm asking what the hell is Hillary doing? She's lost by any measure you want to use.

She seems to be ensuring that her backers will never vote for Obama.

She seems to be more interested in her own ambition than healing the country.

She has (not too subtly) appealed to racists.

She is shredding any hope of Democratic unity.

She has embraced the analysis of Karl Rove of all people.

She is helping to put McCain in the White House.

Please don't accuse me of anti-feminism. A few months back, I would have had no problem seeing her win the primary and the general election. What's turned me off on Hillary is Hillary. Having said this, what in the world are Democrats who are sticking with her thinking???

54. She has only three campaign themes ... depending on the audience.
Edited on Thu May-22-08 05:22 PM by TahitiNut
(1) Vote for me because I piggy-backed on my husband's experience. (Only the good parts, though.)

(2) Vote for me because I'm a woman. (Hear me lie.)

(3) Vote for me because I represent white Americans. (We work. They don't)

Divisive "identity politics." Even her sycophants look at the race through the narrow lens of "identity politics." When Hillary lies down on the railroad tracks they play Dudley Dorightwing and go looking for Snidely Whiplash (with the dark complexion). The projection is unreal.

I have no belief that she will end her campaign then, nor that the DNC will put any pressure on her to do so.

The only comfort in all of this is that her political career will be over by the time we are able to shove her out of the race.

Edited on Thu May-22-08 03:32 PM by TornadoTN
Seriously, because the OP's points are spot-on. The longer this thing goes and the more bullshit is thrown about by either candidate, the larger the risk of turning the other candidates base away. (Remember, not everyone is 100% do-or-die party line voter, not even a majority of voters)

Or is that the plan now at this stage of the game?

It's called a self-fulfilling prophecy
After she finally kneecaps Obama she'll say "See? I told you he couldn't win."

Then 2012 rolls around - lather, rinse, repeat.

"What's turned me off Hillary is Hillary."

Her supporters keep asking why people hate her - but when you point to her own behaviour as the cause, they refuse to accept that as being the logical explanation.

15. Use wisdom rather than anger
If Obama were to quit while he is ahead and let the better candidate Hillary win
the nomination without all this fuss he can come back when is is a little older
and wiser and be a shoe in.

Focus energy on getting that step done and the anger will disappear.

18. Point of order: SOME of her backers may not vote for Obama,
but is seems more and more of them are abandoning HRC as she shows her ugly and overpowering obsession to be more than her rational mind can control.

Lots of FORMER HRC supporters here and in various polls are fine with Obama and NOT fine with Hillary these days. She has snapped and most recognize that sad fact.

51. It is amazing
The Clinton machine dismantling itself before the country's eyes. $31 million in the red (this must be paid before the convention). So many caucus states slapped in the face cause they are not representative of a democracy. It is her perfume (desperation). Its the black, No its the DNC, maybe the uneducated whites didn't turn out enough, that right its because he is black that he gets special priviledge. Or maybe because her campaign people were too busy lobbying for corporate interest, to realize there was another candidate in the race who was raising shitloads of money. Maybe the upstart was visiting states that she took for granted. Maybe that same upstart utilized those familiar with each states process and signed people to do GOTV. Maybe 51 % of the voters just werent buying what she was selling. It really dont matter other than the fact her monumentally flawed campaign just totally underestimated her opponent. There are no set standards to qualify to be POTUS; Bush is the prime example. So if she cannot run her campaign or at least get competent people to help then why reward her?
