1. Sure! Let's go to the Clinton News Network and buy their bullshit
as they highlight one poll that's convenient to their slant.

Yeah.....let's steal the nomination to the one who earned it, and give it to the one who wants to steal it due to one poll on the corporate news network.

Sounds like something to do if you are out of your mind.

Thanks for the history lesson Slick Willie. Now remind me again why you said this, since the question asked had NOTHING to do with this. Just wanted to make sure that he got that little factoid out to the media. We get it already! He's black!

America would never elect a woman for president - and the GOP as well as Obama are counting on it.

22. The GE doesn't have "proportional" voting
like the Dem primary does. Proportional voting gives weaker candidates more support in a race, which is why Obama has been able to catch up to Clinton.

If he gets the nom, Obama will be competing on a level playing field with McCain, and he will lose.

BTW, I'm beginning to wonder if this whole Dem primary sideshow is just so Dean can keep his job and Pelosi & Reid can have someone malleable to support their lobbyists agenda in Congress.

In VA, NM and CO, Obama is up over McCain.

And Hillary is still done.

38. actually the polls have been consistent
in electoral college matchups - Hillary wins; Obama loses.

ps - we will not win NM or CO with either candidate, IMO - the independents out here, who are the largest political bloc, will go for another westerner like themselves - John McCain. Which makes the big swing states like Ohio and Florida all the more important. The polls there have been consistent also. Hillary wins; Obama loses.

20. Obama can't win against McCain in key states
Edited on Thu May-22-08 12:46 PM by OzarkDem
Try to remember that any candidate going into the GE against the GOP needs to have a large margin of popularity because their dirty campaigning will reduce that popularity substantially.

Having a Dem go into the GE campaign with popularity ratings BELOW or even with McCain is not just dangerous and ill advised, its suicidal.

Can someone tell me again why we want to go into the GE with the weaker candidate instead of the one that's polling AHEAD of McCain?

33. Hillary Clinton has the highest negatives of any presidential candidate ever
and she hasn't even been vetted. Obama didn't lay a hand on her. She hasn't been vetted, her husband hasn't been vetted, and Chelsea hasn't been vetted. How did she get that job at the hedge fund? What favors were given? What did Bill and Hillary have to do? Who has information on that which hasn't been revealed? Quite a few people do. What about the donor lists?

The GOP is freaking out because they have nothing on Obama that is even worth running with...nothing which would rise to the level of presidential politics. They need the Clintons. Too bad they won't get them.

30. Those polls are meaningless, and will simply not hold past the convention in Denver.
Besides, nobody has any idea what kind of situation we'll be in come November. The only polls that matter are the ones that begin right after the Presidential Debates in October.

I'll throw this out, as well.... I just filled up my gas tank, at the rate of $3.99 a gallon. The station was packed, and we all began an interesting conversation about how fucked up the energy situation is.

One man said to me, "I need to get me one of those."

"Yes, this car does get great mileage." (he was driving a late-model minivan, and I have a 2000 Acura Integra)

"No, one of those." And then he pointed to my Obama bumper sticker. :-)
