Webb's intentions
I would love for Webb to be VP.

I'm reading the first chapter of his new book 'A Time to Fight: Reclaiming a Fair and Just America'

"And so it is with the Senate chamber. It was conceived and built by ingenious leaders, and we are merely its latest set of temporary occupants, charged with the stewardship of our nation’s standards and its continuity. I will always be a guest here, no matter how long I might remain in the Senate. The Senate floor is and always has been the great arena of our democracy. I spent eight years in my younger life as a boxer, and sometimes when I enter the chamber I think, This is the ring. The American people can see us here, and listen to our arguments. This is where the fights matter."

Reading that paragraph made me think he doesn't view his future as being a "senator for life", but him italicizing those last lines, while titling his book 'A Time to Fight', makes me wonder if he would prefer to stay in the Senate for a while longer?

Has anyone read the full book yet? Does it shed any significant light on his intentions?

1. his interview w/Terri Gross on Fresh Air...he emphatically stated he would not consider VP
he likes where he is. I think he is simply stating that he is there by the will of the people, and could be retired by them; also he could have health or other reasons down the road to prevent him from seeking re election at some point.

He is an interesting guy though.

2. He wasn't quite so emphatic on Olbmermann last night.
He would probably prefer to stay in the Senate, but if the party says to him, "Hey, you're the guy who can make this ticket work", I've no doubt he'd accept.
