We might not need Oregon, Kentucky will do it for him!

That's my dream scenario--After WV, I would consider his clinching the delegate lead in KY to be poetic justice. He needs only 29% of the vote for the 15 delegates he needs to clinch. Anything above that is gravy.

6. Some delegates MSM reports as pledged are not pledged yet. Caucus delegates from Texas, for example
These delegates will not be officially 'pledged' until the Texas State Convention, and not one day before.

7. We are intimately aware of how state conventions allocate seats
you are free to start a thread with whatever pledged counts you want. Ours reflects those that are used by all independent counters including GP AP and DCW.

11. Your '14.5 to pledged del majority' is wrong.
It reflects a lack of knowledge of the correct process.

12. I refuse to assist you in your embarassing yourself publicly any further
the numbers I reported are widely quoted and CNN also reported it

You can follow the numbers on DemconWatch the most authoritative source in all delegate matters

http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/03/ultimate-delegate-summary.html

Your whole premise is absurd because it assumes that there is some formal 'pledging' mechanism. All that pledging means is that the candidate who has won the seat gets to chose the delegate.

Using your logic we couldn't actually count the delegate numbers until the convention.

To date two 'pledged delegates' have gone against the campaign that chose them - Clinton campaign.

Senator Obama being the gentleman he is is not counting, and our numbers do not include these two pledged Clinton delegates who are now publicly committed to Senator Obama.

You really are not well informed about what you are talking about but if you feel that you have a case to make then please start a thread on how thread on your personal understanding of the numbers for pledged delegates.

28. here you go
1) he needs one more delegate to win the majority of pledged delegates

2) we know that he is going to get 100 more delegates - another 40 tonight from KY/OR and more from spliting SD MT and PR

3) we know that he is going to get about 20 add on delegates from add on states that he dominated

4) we know that he is going to get more Edwards delegates

5) Based on known delegates he is going to get the nomination

At the end of tonight he is going to be about 40 delegates short of the nomination

39. Can he win tonight?
53 pledged available out of OR, I believe. Assuming he gets 60% of those, that's 30-35 more delegates to the total, bringing his magic number down to 60 or so. If he has word from that many supers that they will vote for him (and he has said he has enough), then maybe he can actually announce tonight.

A guy can hope, can't he?

Obama's 30% of KY has earned him the 15 pledged delegates he needs to clinch the delegate lead. The OR results will therefore be icing on the cake. Cut the vonage theme, and post your congrats here!
