BREAKING: Mark McKinnon is leaving the McCain campaign...."don't want to work against Obama"
Edited on Tue May-20-08 01:30 PM by scheming daemons
Still think Obama can't win the GE?

Even McCain's own people see the writing on the wall.

8. Didn't Mark make that pledge a while ago?
He said that Obama is such a nice guy that he would quit if he makes it to the general election? Or was that someone else. I'm surprised he kept the pledge.

10. This is basically an endorsement.......
'I just don't want to work against an Obama candidacy,' McKinnon told Cox Washington bureau chief Ken Herman ; electing Obama, he added, 'would send a great message to the country

11. In 2007, McKinnon told McCain that he would quit if Obama was the Democratic nominee, so this was
expected, and I'd say it's more telling in that McKinnon is assuming that Obama won the nomination.

Rove is trying to help Hillary.... that is what has US concerned.

35. god, what hypocrisy. Hilly is touting rove, kissing ass
when it comes to Scaife and Murdoch, and you have an issue with some guy who worked for bush and quit McCain's campaign so as not to work against Obama?

I've never held it against hill that Buchanan and other repukes are touting hill.

24. You got issues
With Hillary saying McCain has more experience than Obama. Hillary taking endorsements from Richard Scaif. Hillary using the math of Karl Rove? You got problems with any of that?

If I'd elongated on that thought, I'd have added how there are some of us who see disturbing similarities between Bush 2000 and Obama 2008 campaigns.

30. I think he sees what's coming and wants no part of it.
He knows that the only shot McCain has to beat O is to go racist.

I doubt he'll go to work for Obama, but he seems not to want to go anywhere near the negative campaign that will be necessary for McCain not to be blown out of the water.

41. If That Were The Case
He could have easily said, and let it be known, he was taking the year off to concentrate on his family / personal life.

Instead, he's told everyone and everyone he refuses to campaign against Obama.
