Low turnout in my Kentucky polling station
In my county, we have about 10 precincts and they're all in one location. The population of my county is about 24,000. I was the only one voting in my precinct. I just went straight to the booth. There were more poll workers than voters. I got up extra early just in case of a line, but there was none. I don't think that bodes well for Hillary. I know it was a bit early, but if there was high turnout, then there'd be more people than it was this morning.

1. Interesting
I wonder if all the lies about winning the popular vote by Hillary sunk in and the voters are not happy....?

4. If there's low turnout it will be because the writing on the wall is clear

Obama will have a majority of pledged delegates today and nothing stops that.

This could depress turnout for Hillary today.

I doubt that will happen, though, and predict record primary turnout in both Kentucky and Oregon.

12. Official Expecting about 30% Turnout Among Democrats
Officials expecting about 30% percent turnout among Democrats

Associated Press • May 20, 2008

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Kentucky elections officials are predicting 25-30 percent turnout among Democrats in the Bluegrass State — a figure driven by the presidential primary.

Secretary of State spokesman Les Fugate says 20-to-25 percent turnout is expected across the state, with a slightly higher turnout in the Democratic primary on Tuesday.

The election is the first in which seven western and central Kentucky counties are using digital scan voting machines. The machines digitally capture voter selections on printed ballots, then count the vote totals.

11. I was wondering how many people would not bother, at the last minute
because they figured it didn't matter how big she swept the state by.

13. I don't think that's it, most people aren't online watching the #'s like we are

2. My polling place in Maryland is always like this
suburban community center.

Most don't like to vote early like we do. We never have to wait, and there are always more poll workers than voters.

It doesn't mean that many won't vote.

10. What is it about this year
that makes people vote earlier?

I'm just saying you can't judge turnout by one morning visit to one polling place.

5. Part of Obama's strategy of minimal visits to KY - Lower turnout. He doesn't need a win here.

9. Is there anything else on the ballot besides the primary contests? If
not, that really could mean a low turnout. I don't think the media will report this aspect if it happens, though. They will only report on the spread, not the turnout.

15. It is going to heat up after some hours but the mornings is usually when many people vote.
This could be good or bad news for Obama.
