2. Whatever Kerry did on 9-11 doesn't matter. He wasn't president and didn't

receive information on August 6 that stated Bin Laden was going to strike.

Had Kerry been president with that type of information known, I am quite certain he would have reacted swiftly as EVERY indicator in his past has shown he is quite capable of reacting swiftly, especially if the lives of his fellow citizens are at stake. That's something George Bush has NEVER experienced, let alone been forced to act.

4. Might be from a Washington Post article
www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A46913-2004Aug6.html

Kerry's case that he would have acted with more swiftness and poise than Bush was also undermined by another interview -- this one with the candidate himself. On July 8, Kerry recalled for CNN's Larry King his actions that day. He was in a meeting in the office of Senate Minority Leader Thomas A. Daschle (D-S.D.) when he watched the second plane hit the World Trade Center on television, while standing next to fellow senators Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.). "And we shortly thereafter sat down at the table, and then we just realized nobody could think, and then, boom, we saw the cloud of the explosion at the Pentagon."

7. About their meeting
I don't think he meant they couldn't think at all.

10. Oh for heaven's sake
These people are just too silly. Obviously he meant they couldn't think about the meeting topic.

It's just getting beyond ridiculous. My favorite, though, is the "Bush actually volunteered for Vietnam and they turned him down" fantasy. It must really be hard to know your guy's macho is all fake, and when the chips were down he didn't go. Pathetic really, that they have to come up with these dreams to reassure themselves.

My God I want these people swept away and crushed in a landslide of votes for Kerry. Thats my dream.

5. I'm sure he sat in his office for seven minutes
because he didn't want to scare his secretary. :eyes:

Then he ran around the country, looking for a bunker to hide in. Cheney had everything under control.

6. Larry King
Senators were in a meeting and sat down at the table and realized they couldn't think; about the matter at hand. I have no clue where they're getting that 40 minutes from, probably the time of the first plane hitting until the plane hit the Pentagon.

8. So They Couldn't "Think" Or Concentrate On Matter AT HAND
the topic of their meeting?

In other words, THEY WERE PREOCCUPIED WITH THE ATTACKS!

Unlike Junior who seemed to be fucking OBLIVIOUS!

9. and they also didn't have the powers and options available
as the president does. if they were president they would have used the powers to demand info and other things. but they did what they could as senators.

someone needs to point out the job of a senator and president are not exactly alike. bush thinks the presidency is a figurehead position like the governor of texas and he wants others to do all the work.

17. They made it up
9:00, when the second plane hit until 9:40 when the plane hit the Pentagon. They had no authority to do anything, were in a meeting and couldn't think about the task at hand, were evacuated when the plane hit the Pentagon. Therefore Kerry couldn't think for 40 minutes.

18. Kerry actually DID make the statement
But it's irrelevant what Kerry did or didn't do on 9-11, as he was a Senator and not required to be in charge of the situation.

Rudy Guiliani was the mayor of New York City. Leadership was required of him, and he stepped up to the plate. Whatever else you might think of the guy, he did the best he could do in that instance.

Junior was supposedly the "President" of the United States. Leadership was required of him, and he sat like a fucking zombie in a classroom for 7 minutes pretending to read a book about a goat, then crawled into a hole in Nebraska. He failed, miserably (apologies to Gephardt)

So when the 'Pukes try to call attention to Kerry on this one, they're really drawing attention to Junior's extreme incompetence and cowardice on that day

19. Talk about stretching the truth.- long post
Here is a link to the report that comes up with this lie. Notice that Kerry did not say that he could not think. He said that he realized nobody could think. The 42 minutes comes from their strange interpretation of the timeline, but it is really irrelevant as Kerry did not say he couldn't think for 42 minutes.

http://www.washingtondispatch.com/page2/archives/000468.html

Their section of transcript is also misleading, a second later you get his description of the time and it is anything, but him sitting there stone faced for seven minutes.

http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0407/08/lkl.00.html+kerry+9/11+capital+evacuation&hl=en

I'll have to find a link on this, but my understanding is that when the capital was evacuated, many of the congresspersons ran for their lives. Witnesses say that Kerry strolled out of the Capital calmly and when he got outside he stopped and looked at the sky for a while before moving on. He was apparently calm and collected in the face of losing his life.

Further compare what Kerry did in Vietnam when his life was certainly in danger. He ran the boats back in the face of danger. When his boat mates lives were in danger he ran into the bullets. He saved this mans life.

Bush ran from air base to air base. When informed that his life might be in danger Bush looked like this...

and then sat stone faced for seven minutes...
