Check in here if you are still fans of both Obama and Clinton!
With all of the divisiveness going on here between the supporters of both of our candidates, I figured it was time for those of us who still believe in both of our Democrats to have our voices heard too!

I am a hardcore Obama supporter, and I didn't agree with Clinton's "kitchen sink" strategy during a primary, but I feel both of them are true Democrats and are committed to defeating the far right. I would have gladly supported Clinton if she became the nominee. The Supreme Court situation is downright frightening if McCain gets in. It will be 7 young right-wing justices against 2 non-right-wing justices. I believe both Senator Obama and Senator Clinton will do the right thing when it comes to the courts.

I am confident either would be 1,000 times better than McCain.

6. "If you have voted for Barack or me, you have more in common than you
have with McCain" Quoted from Clinton from a conference call with bloggers that someone else has posted as proof that she is a no-good low-down scheming witch.

I have lots of respect for both senators. Much less respect for some people in the press and some people on the internet, whose job seems to be to get between the American public and the candidates and make it all but impossible for them to make an educated vote.

8. Of course. My Mom was a single Mom in the 1950s, and Rosie the Riveter in WWII.
Mom would have found Hillary an extraordinary candidate, and not because of her toughness. That, she would have taken for granted, and probably would have had a few unkind words for Bill, to boot. That was her history, and mine.

But be that as it may, she also would have found Barack someone who spoke to her. She worked in the 1960s as a locker room attendant in a girls' locker room in a Detroit high school, and used those union-negotiated wages to raise my brother and me alone. (Bulletin: We weren't rich). She saw the transition before she retired in 1981, and never treated a single black girl any different in the late 70s than she did the white girls in the 60s.

It was never an issue. She was an FDR Dem, and that was all there was to it. There is more, but there you are. Mom would have voted for either, and this good woman would have seen through McCain, and his nearly billionaire wife, that he threw his first wife over for. Mom cut through the BS, and I miss her.

11. There are some of us left in GDP.
I have decided that Barrack is not the messiah and Hillary is not a Goddess.
I know that they both support policies that I can embrace and they are both standup Dems.

Checking in.

15. I'm checking in, but as a contrarian . . . I'm a fan of neither . . .
I have, however, reconciled myself to the fact that Obama will be the nominee, and I guess I'm okay with that . . . what the American people want more than anything is change, and neither Clinton nor McCain can provide even a hope of that . . . whether Obama's talk of change translates into policy remains to be seen, but I'm doubtful . . .

the only way significant change will ever occur in this country is for the president and the Congress to go after the corporations head-on, regulate them heavily, and make them pay for the damage they are inflicting on the nation and the planet . . . there also have to be penalties for corporations that move jobs overseas to save a buck and that move their entire corporate operation offshore to save mega-bucks in taxes . . . the power to run elections must be removed from corporations and returned to the people, and war profiteering must be punished severely . . . corporations that continue to refuse to be good citizens should have their charters revoked, and if they re-incorporate in another country, they should be prohibited from selling their goods and services in this country . . .

I doubt that Obama or any other candidate is willing to take on the corporations in a way that will actually make a difference . . . at least until the crisis is so severe that they have no choice . . . and by then it will be too late . . .

My only concern during the primary was electability. But now that Obama is the likely nominee, I definately support him.
