Obama is READY! Hell yea!
How many times over the past several years have we all seen these shallow, false, and nonsensical attacks on Democrats? And how many times have we screamed at our TVs when the responses were weak-kneed and pathetic? And how many times has there simply been no response at all?

Obama and his campaign have learned the lessons of 2004, and for that matter the standard Republican play-book since 9-11. Those lessons are:

1. Respond immediately.
2. Respond with force.
3. Call the attacks out for what they are.

He's doing this, and it is succeeding. The Kentucky GOP goes after Michelle, and what does Barack do? He calls it out as a cowardly attack on his family, stating that the GOP should have the backbone to come after him directly. FUCK! YEA! Bush tries to compare him to a Nazi-appeaser to a Jewish audience no less, and what was the response? A goddamn tidal wave of criticism with Obama's campaign leading the charge. Now they are claiming it wasn't about Obama, and trying to make it go away. In other words: THEY ARE IN RETREAT! They are running away with their tail between their legs because they have become accustomed to their Democratic opponents simply absorbing the attacks like John Kerry did, or responding with statements trying to make them look more Republican in desperation as way to say, "Please don't hurt meeeeeee!"

They simply aren't prepared for a candidate who refuses to take their shit. They aren't prepared for Obama. The bully in the schoolyard just got punched in the nose by the new kid, and the bully is standing there confounded and dazed, wondering what the hell just happened.

GO. OBAMA. GO.

2. I tend to agree
the onslaught that cometh, though will challenge this readiness.

I think he's up to it, and his organization is up to it, but it is going to be brutal and very, very ugly.

Take that racist ad against Harold Ford; the swiftboat shit; this attack on Michelle; the Rev Wright hoorah, and multiply it all by about 500.

Brace yourselves, folks. Imagine you just got strapped into the front seat on the worlds biggest, baddest rollercoaster.

4. The big difference
Edited on Fri May-16-08 01:25 PM by politicasista
is that Obama has Democrats defending him and unified now. Kerry didn't have that and had TPTB in the Democratic Party working against him.

And you missed this link.

Kerry hit back plenty, but the media buried and Democrats didn't back him up.

I agree that Obama has learned the lessons of 2004 very well.

10. Obama is a novelty
Edited on Sat May-17-08 10:10 AM by DearAbby
I believe the media will give Obama more coverage than they did to Kerry...Obama is a new toy, a novelty...First person of color to ever be this close to taking the white house.

This is a whole new ball game, Obama has an excellent response team. And the media spotlight.

Results: Democratic majority and the White house January 09

6. Well said. Ralphie Parker is finally punching the crap out of Scut Farkas
and the whole schoolyard, including the bullies, is looking on going "Wow..."

And finding that video of McCain advocating negotiations with Hamas...now THAT was the piece de resistance. "Not only am I going to fight BACK when you lie about me and try to misframe me, I'm going to HUNT DOWN YOUR HYPOCRISIES AND CALL YOU ON THEM."

Obama has served notice right out of the gate: I am not your father's Dem candidate. I will not stand there and be your punching bag.

Damn, he's good.
