Who is really behind the ad? Yeah, they are one of those "independent" 527 groups that do not have to have the disclaimer in their ad. And they are no different from MoveOn.org and those Democratic groups, right? Maybe? Maybe not.

Although MoveOn.org and other Democratic groups do indeed favor the Democratic Party and John Kerry over Bush and the Repubs, I doubt there is that much input from DNC. They don't need the guidance. They know what they believe. They believe GWB needs to go.

I'm not sure it is the same with the Swift Boat ad. It appears there are Republican operatives from as far back as the Nixon Administration working with this group. They are Republican Party operatives - not just Republican "supporters" with money - as should be distinguished from the Democratic groups. They are the same operatives that destroyed John McCain in South Carolina. They are not 'independent' from the Repub Party. It's an important distinction.

Of course, the press nor anyone else will point out the difference in the Swift Boat group and the MoveOn.org group. True, they are both political but the fingerprints of Rove and Bush are on one more than Kerry or the DNC are on the other.

All of us know this is a non-issue, issue. It is a form of taking away attention from the campaign so we aren't focusing on the real issues. I think a Houston area developer is behind this whole thing.

The theme of this ad is very similar to what they did to Dukakis back in 88 with the tank. Also they made a few attempts with Kerry and the jump suits and now the swift boats. I hope by now the public at large is more discriminating, and Kerry responds quickly.....
