Hillary Defends Obama From McCain's Hamas Attack
CNN just sent me an advance chunk of transcript of an interview that Wolf Blitzer did with Hillary that will be airing today on The Situation Room.

In it, Hillary, who hit Obama for his association with Jeremiah Wright, defends Obama from McCain's bogus Hamas-endorsed-Obama attack...

BLITZER: Here is what McCain said about Barack Obama and I want to get your reaction. He said, "I think," this is McCain, "I think it's very clear who Hamas wants to be the next president of the United States. I think people should understand that I would be Hamas' worst nightmare. If Senator Obama is favored by Hamas, I think people can make judgments accordingly." McCain was referring to a statement by the North American spokesman for Hamas endorsing, in effect, Barack Obama. Is McCain right?

CLINTON: No, I think that that's really an overstatement, an exaggeration of any kind of political meaning and I don't think that anybody should take that seriously.

A sign that Hillary is taking a less harsh approach as the end of the campaign grows nigh?

In the interview, Hillary also concedes that her "white Americans" comment was a dumb mistake. We'll bring you video when it's available.

1. A rather lame defence, if you ask me.
At least she didn't say "..as far as I know"

11. To be fair, it's not Hillary's job to defend Obama but she looks
like a much better person for not piling on. Do you remember the 2004 Primaries? The boys weren't exactly nice to each other and Joe Trippi did some despicable things Kudos to Hillary.

I think I need to get my temperature checked because I've been feeling more forgiving and less antagonistic towards Hillary this week.

15. It's lovely to see, actually.
This is a much more appealing side of you. You have the potential to be a leader in a very positive way.

2. Good, she seems to be moving towards unity.
I hope it stays positive, and I hope she will let the DNC handle FL and MI, without blocking more compromises.

5. Works for me Thank you HRC
I disagree with mCcain, he would be the next/best recruiting poster for Hamas after bushco. I also disagree somewhat with Senator Clinton, folks SHOULD take mCcain's words seriously. It would be nice if he would just fade away to history's dustbin as the nutter he truly is but at the moment he is quite the threat to our planet, his words and voting record proves this. Overall I am OK with the effort by HRC in this case, she IS in a campaign for President against Senator Obama so I can understand why she did not take this a bit further.

8. Ugh....I could quibble, but what's the use?
I think she needs to go a LOT farther for what she's put Obama (and the rest of us) through in this campaign....but I will give her due for finally backing up a fellow Democrat against a GOP smear.

13. The guy McCain went off on was a Bill Clinton staffer
before he was an informal part of Obama's campaign. The guy was also meeting with Hamas at part of his job.

there have been people on this board who have tried to use that smear here. I hope Hillary's comment will show them that such a smear is contemptible.

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2008/05/obama_adviser_c_1.html

Robert Malley, a former Clinton administration officials, held the meetings as part of his job with the International Crisis Group in the Middle East.

What is the International Crisis Group?

An organization that works to find solutions to world problems that do not involve murdering innocent people. what a TERRIBLE thing to be associated with!!!
