He has harsh words for John Kerry, all of which I don't agree with. For example, as typical of an outsider progressive, he fails (or chooses not to) see Kerry's leadership in exposing government corruption and scandal, gay rights, and the environment, and all he can see is NAFTA and IWR. For the record, Kerry has consistently advocated better standards for NAFTA (a la the Kerry Amendment for one), has strongly opposed CAFTA and FTAA until they're improved, and has chosen a VP who railed against NAFTA in the primaries.
But Cobb has proven himself a wiser man than his predecessor, Nader, in his smart-growth strategy. A 10% showing in a safe state like New York is infinitely preferable to a 0.5% showing in a state like Florida, which amounts to nothing nationally but only tips the state to Bush. Die hard Naderites led by Peter Camejo will probably call guys like Cobb a sellout, but I have tremendous respect for this man, even though I don't agree with his comments about Kerry.
