Poll question: DU poll: Bush vs. Kerry
Edited on Thu Aug-05-04 07:04 PM by LoZoccolo
There has been a lot of talk about whether or not the Gallup poll is an outlier or propaganda, etcetera. There has been some discussion on whether or not it was affected by methodology or whether or not the nights it was taken affected it.

I propose we conduct another poll, as I did months ago, with methodology transparent to us, so that we can judge the results of the Gallup poll and other polls against this new one.

To that end:

If the election were held tommorow, would you vote for George W. Bush, or John F. Kerry?

3. It will serve as our measuring stick for all other polls.
In this poll, we know how it was taken, so it is fair and balanced.

8. We have 11 of them as of this morning
There are people that think that GAWD wants Bush as President. There is no way to convince them otherwise.

6. Looks like someone took your suggestion.
Darn it! Folks here need to get serious about this. On DU, there shouldn't be one damn vote for chimp. The thought that there are people on here who actually want to vote for him sends chills down my spine. :scared:

7. The Bush* votes could actually be Nader votes.
Because...

10. Only in your dreams
For all of his faults, and his wrong headedness about this particular election, the 3% of the people that support Nader in the polls are totally opposed to Bush policies, which is more of what I can say about those that support candidates that voted for PATRIOT, NAFTA, and IWR.

A vote for Nader is a vote for Nader.

A vote for Bush is a vote for Bush.

A vote for Kerry is either a vote for Kerry or a pure ABB vote.

Kerry will win this election on the basis of the ABB vote!

14. Oh yeah, if 100% of the people on DU think it to be so
then by all means it is truth. :eyes:

15. My poll is fair and balanced.
There is nothing in my methodology that is hidden.

You did not even look at the older poll.

16. I noticed the Stalinist poll that you conducted
a sort of a one choice version of the lesser of two evils.

13. Actually, 85% Democratic support for Kerry isn't all that odd.
I think Gore got 86% support from Democrats in 2000. Kerry's support among Democrats may be higher than that. But if this poll had a margin of error, it would probably be a large one, and it might make this poll very accurate.

For the record, I am wholeheartedly supporting the junior Senator from the great state of Massachusetts.
