From Salon.com--MORE examples of racism on the campaign trail.
And keep in mind, this ugliness is coming from OTHER DEMOCRATS (note below that others are picking up on the hypocrisy).

http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/2008/05/13/racism/print.html

snip:

Incidentally, some of Salon's reporters have heard similar things from voters about their reticence to vote for Obama because of his race -- our Mike Madden has an article up today in which he mentions one voter in West Virginia who said his neighbors "won't go for a black man ... I don't think it's being racist necessarily, they just don't like black people that well." The man added, "The arrogance and all that bothers me more than black, but black is a close second ... Our generation was back when blacks were the back of the bus, and it's hard to change that outlook. I just feel like I couldn't vote for him."

At Hot Air, Ed Morrissey was incensed that the Post didn't mention often enough that the incidents described in the article happened in the context of a Democratic contest, and said, "The media should remember this when it comes to accusations of racism and bigotry later in the general election." He linked to a post at the QandO Blog, where Bruce McQuain had written, "As predictably as sunrise occurring tomorrow, Democrats will start throwing 'racism' around during the general election. When they do, posts like this will remind them that they have absolutely no room to talk."

2. How in the world
would he know if the racists were Democrats or Republicans?? Did he look them up and poll them. That's absurd to think that a Republican racist is saving their racist actions for the GE. Especially the ones driving by on a highway. What a dumb assertion, and an attempt, I guess to give it a free pass in the GE because "Democrats did it too!" Lame.

5. While it's somewhat off base, do NOT kid yourself that a lot of this isn't coming from dems.
Just one look at some of the signs from the WV Hillary rally yesterday should put that little question completely to rest.

Yeah, there's racism on our side, too--we just don't like to recognize it or talk about it, and we do ourselves a disservice by ignoring it.

12. You misunderstand me..
if you stroll over to those threads, you will see that I was far from ignoring, and pretty vocal about my disgust of the Democratic racism. I'm not living in any dreamworld where racism is only a Republican point of view. Those Democrats who are racists will be voting Republican, so Democrats? not so much...

I understand that it is there, no matter what political party, I am saying this article, parts of it, seems to be pre-empting our right to call out Republican racists. The Democrats did it too will be their defense which is nonsense. :)

3. Hannity was vile on the subject again today.
No, I don't listen to him regularly. Just happened to be station surfing on the way home from the doctor, and he started to talk about the MSNBC story about the young Obama workers encountering flagrant and ugly, specific instances of racism.

Naturally, Heil Hannity did not condemn those specific incidents, but instead took off after Rev. Wright and Michelle Obama. The next time Hannity condemns ANY instance of racism directed against blacks will be the first.

He is vile. I never thought I could despise anyone more than Limbaugh, but Racist Hannity has reached that point.

11. Yes, I know. Hal Turner.
You can google him; I won't post the link here. Active calls on that site to kill blacks, Jews, Asians and Kennedys.

Hannity keeps good company. One of these days, he's going to get challenged on his racism. It won't be by Colmes, but somebody will hammer him about his friendship with Hal Turner.

10. Unfortunately
many older people feel this way, they are victims of their time and upbringing. It's certainly not an exclusive domain of just Democrats and it is certainly a Republican trait! Hell, 'Racist' is that party's middle name, hyphenated with 'Christian'!

13. NO! They are not "victims" of anything.
Good lord, but that's a disgusting excuse. They're not "victims" of their time--they simply have CHOSEN to remain small-minded, hateful and unevolved. And shame on every last one of them.
