Clinton Supporters: Will You Admit the Strong Likelihood Is Obama's The Nominee?
James Carville is about as pro-Clinton as they come.

He ran Bill Clinton's campaign in 1992, and has been a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton in 2008.

But he said something that I find interesting. He said the likelihood is Barack Obama is going to be the nominee.

Will you admit, like Carville did, that Obama is most likely going to be the Democratic nominee?

And if so, will you commit to doing your part? I know the vast majority of you are great Democrats who just passionately believe Senator Clinton is more prepared and better qualified. James Carville said when Obama's the nominee, he'll write the check. Will you?

2. I did before CNN and MSNBC called Indiana
The clear majority of Clinton supporters on this board have always said they would support the Democratic nominee. I will help Obama with time and money.

How many times do we need to answer it?

I'm not answering this one. Just check out one of the other 500 loyaly oaths to find my position.

23. Good answer
This has really started to look like another flag pin story. By now its just an annoyance to the people that will do what the OP asks for, anyway. Repeatedly asking for it, will at best do nothing and even worse possibly trigger the opposite reaction.

5. of course
and I've always said I like Obama, and I'll vote for him.

But the hatred shown for my candidate and my fellow Clinton supporters here does dampen my enthusiasm to do much more than that. Obama supporters here have run a scorched-earth campaign against Clinton and her supporters, so it shouldn't be a surprise that many of us aren't too inclined to hold hands with you.

7. Your feelings make sense
My hope is this protracted dance will come to an end no later then the first week in June.

At which time the healing will begin.

I hope Obama reaches out to Hillary supporters in such a way as to invite - maybe in the form of picking a strong Clinton supporter (like Wes Clark) on the ticket. I would be very surprised if Hillary wanted to be his VP, but I would not be surprised if Obama at least offered her the slot.

Once we ALL have a common enemy, things will calm down.

Thanks for hanging in there: I admire any Hillary supporters tenacity on DU.

9. What's frustrating for me
is that there's even a need for such healing.

There was never any reason for the hate shown against a democrat to appear here the way it did. It's perfectly possible to support a candidate without destroying his opponent and his supporters. It's just so unnecessary, so divisive, so counterproductive, that I don't understand why so many people engaged in it, or why this site allowed them to.

25. Hillary started it
She ran her campaign in the gutter. Some Obama supporters are just trying to keep up. "All Obama has is a speech in 2002?" Screw Hillary.

38. The 'gutter' is in Obama supporters minds
Most of what they complain about exists mostly in Obama supporters heads. They have been running a months long smear campaign against the Clintons.

41. It was the only way they could win
That's what ends up being really troubling.
They have basically "Swift Boated" Hillary & they aren't even strong enough
to admit that is what they did.

When they are looking for people to blame for the rift in our party, many of them might
want to invest in a mirror.

39. I firmly believe the hate against Hillary comes from the Freepers who have joined Obama supporters..
...and egged them on to join them in their anger and hate of the Clintons. Obama supporters now sound exactly like republicans.

Anger leaves a person vulnerable to negative influence by others. Anger wrecks a persons integrity.

Why are so many Clinton supporters like you? Just cast your vote and quit whining. "Obama supporters won't come out and play with me." Suck it up!

P.S. We don't want to hold hands with pandering supporters anyway. Funny that you accuse Obama supporters of scorched earth policy. Where did you here that term from this campaign season? Perhaps concerning Hillary's strategy during this election?

It's the stupidest, most childish thing I've seen in politics. You guys are just enormous douches, and then complain when anybody points out that you're enormous douches.

Sure, but there's a big difference between nominee and President-elect. He needs to broaden his base, and I don't think publication of more inspirational books will do it this time around.

one Clinton supporter will say "no, I won't vote for him" and then they can use that an excuse to continue the hate against Clinton and her supporters.

If you uncover a racist in WV, it's OK to attack the whole state as toothless cousin-fuckers. That's how they roll here.

27. Many reasons.
The main one is that I don't think that he's experienced enough nor prepared to be president at this point in time. I would have considered him if he had actually stayed in the senate long enough to have an actual resume. As it is, I will not vote for him.

45. I would do so only if the two people pictured on your post ran together.
I think that they both have earned the right to be on each other's ticket. I will not vote for Obama if she's not on the ticket too. Ditto if the situation was reversed, I would have hoped that she would have asked Obama to be her VP.

I understand that there is a lot of bitterness on both sides, but this would be the one way to heal the party and win in November.

20. This is an important election. Why wouldn't you volunteer and give money?
I remember lukewarm supporters of Kerry in 2004 joining me to volunteer for him.

They knew that even though he wasn't their choice, he was way better than Bush.

Same goes in 2008 with Obama being better than McCain, and we have to do EVERYTHING to get him elected.

No matter who we supported. I support John Edwards and then Hillary Clinton before supporting Barack Obama, but I'm still fired up and ready to help (hopefully) elect him President.

If Hillary had gotten the nomination, I would have voted for her and probably gone door to door in the days before the election, but I don't think I could have brought myself to donate. I'm just glad you're voting for him, especially since you live in Philly (my hometown, sort of).

Have fun in France! What are you going there for?

32. Of course he is VERY likely to be the nominee. We support Hillary because we believe in her.
We wont have any point in supporting Obama in GE. We, or at least I, think he'll be a fine candidate, but I still have strong feelings of support for Hillary. I do NOT believe that she is damaging us by staying in this little bit furthure. She will be out by June and will throw her full support behind the nominee. And you never know the future 100%. There is always that .001 percent of a chance something might happen in her favor, and if you really believe in her then I don't see why not support her. You can think that both are good candidates.
