Check the Skies for Piglets: Fox Gets it Right!
Edited on Tue May-13-08 05:29 AM by indimuse
~snip~

by Deb Cupples | In know. Given that Fox's pundits unquestioningly sold their viewers on the Iraq war (and a number of other dismal Bush Administration policies), it's immensely ironic that Fox pundits are now criticizing other media outlets for outright naming Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee with three weeks still left in the primaries. Check out the video below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiVFLEtSJyg&eurl=http://bucknakedpolitics.typepad.com/ WATCH VIDEO!!

I know. The delegate math is against Hillary Clinton at this point. But the popular vote hasn't decisively gone to Obama because it hasn't been fully counted.

Do the various outspoken pundits actually know how many Democrats will vote in the last remaining primaries? How many of them will vote for each Democratic candidate? Kentucky and West Virgina, alone, have more than 2.2 million registered Democrats combined.

Do the pundits know how the DNC will resolve the Michigan and Florida issues on May 31?

Under ordinary circumstances, I would know, but my mind-reading skills are vacationing in the Caribbean (Martinique, I think).

And remember, so-called super-delegates can change their minds before the August convention -- and some of them might (again) if Hillary ends up with more popular votes.

I'm not saying that Obama won't win the nomination. I'm just saying that our media would be wise to wait out these last three weeks before proudly proclaiming a winner -- if only because there are a few unknowns out there.

Thanks to No Quarter for pointing out the video clip. Memeorandum has commentary.

1. So sad. Hillary Defenders have gone to Fux for weeks now.
The Pledged Delegates represent the votes of the people. Caucuses do not record the popular vote. You can't count FL and MI's tainted votes. And, she will not likely win the popular vote anyway.

44. I would hardly call it pandering...
lest we forget, HRC went on with O'reilly prior to Obama's appearance on FOX News Sunday. Both of them screwed up because no matter who gets the nomination, the one thing we do know is that FAUX will work tooth and nail to destroy them...

(and pandering to RW sources might be a subject Hillary supporters want to avoid, Richard Mellon Scaife anyone?) :eyes:

50. Appearing on Fox and going around talking about how GREAT Fox is (barf) are not the same.
It's one thing to grant an interview; quite another to go around spouting off about how great and how "fair and balanced" Fox is.

20. The key words in that headline? -- "At Current Pace"
Right now, Barack Obama has not yet won the nomination.

Saying that Obama is the winner and calling on Hillary to quit is a double-edged Axelrod tactic to discourage folks in the remaining contest from coming out and voting for who they want.

66. She can stay in until the last votes are counted as far as I care
The fact remains, she has no chance of winning outside of a mass superdelegate defection. Based on that I would hope that she would run a 100% positive campaign in the remamining contests. She has earned every right to get out of the race when, and how she wants. But I think we would all appreciate it if she didnt take out his knees on the way out.

Edited on Tue May-13-08 08:21 PM by Crisco
That some people see parallels between the arrogance of the Bush administration and the arrogance of the Obama campaign. At least, that's what I was suggesting when I tooled this one a month or two ago. I was also suggesting that Obama seems more about the appearance of change than actual change.
