She is going nowhere.

4. I just think that it is so tragic that she is waiting for something "Terrible"
to happen to Obama and/or his campaign as her only chance of winning.

It just seems like what is good for her is terrible for most of us.

Plus having read how Bill Clinton is trashing Obama everywhere in West Virginia with Republican frames for Democrats is even worse.

They have already done great damage to so many Americans, and America in general by making race so key to their victory, that this whole thing is creepy, scary, and downright unAmerican.

22. I would change your subject line
from "I just think that it is so tragic that she is waiting for something "Terrible" (to happen to Obama . . . . )

to "I just think that it is so terrible that she is waiting for something tragic" (to happen to Obama . . . . )

Just my take on it.

7. She has to make the call.
Already her loyalists are saying she's been lynched. And that's only because she is losing, not because she is out of it.

We cannot, as a party, have the superdelgates force her out. It isn't right to do it that way.

But she will not concede, she will not put the party or the country before herself, she will not have it any other way.

9. Lynched!!!! Are you kidding? I hope that was just a "term" you chose.
Edited on Mon May-12-08 12:02 AM by samdogmom
This woman has suffered no ill consequences yet...despite her multiple efforts at race baiting. To use the word "lynch" is pretty inflammatory!

I would like to see a direct quote that uses this term...otherwise, please make sure your posts are less inflammatory!

Right now...I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt... I'm trusting she didn't use the word "lynch" in any form in her latest comments to the press.

P.S. On edit: I'm an Obama supporter...so I'm trying to be fair here. But know that I don't support Hillary if you reply.

18. W...O....W!
I can't believe it. Now we have Bill as the "first black president" and Hillary as the first candidate "lynched". Go Figure!

Who would have ever guessed these two "crafty white" candidates could concoct this nightmare?

I'm appalled and saddened. I DO NOT AGREE WITH ANY OF THIS!

I'm a "white" voter who happens to find Hillary Clinton TOTALLY REPULSIVE!!!!

23. My son took us to lunch this afternoon for Mother's Day.
I was quite surprised to hear him say he has the same reaction to Sen. Clinton as he does to Bush.

He can't stand to see or hear her on television, and changes the channel immediately.

You'd have to know him to realize how unexpected it is to me that she has alienated him so thoroughly.

13. The superdelegates are fair game, since she's counting on them
to overturn the will of the voters.

Why should HRC hold the Democratic Party hostage to her unwillingness to do what's best for the party? It sounds like she's already dug into a bunker mentality and it seems that if her team can exploit loopholes to keep this going, she may end up engaging the Dem leaders and SDs in a bizarre game of chicken.

She CAN take it to the convention. Does everyone want to drag this out that far?

If not, the SDs can declare for Obama at any time, just as her camp welcomes the endorsments that come their way.

If the SDs tilt the nomination out of her reach, so be it.

She would've been fine with ending this whole thing back in February if the primaries had gone her way. In that case, I have no doubt that she'd have been all "Indiana who?" "West Virginia who?" "Who gives a damn about Kentucky? We won't get them in the GE anyway!"

19. I think that would be the most difficult for her supporters to accept.
I mean sure, they expect everyone to accept it if Hillary is given the nomination by way of the superdelegates, but I still don't think that's the best way to end this whole thing. She has to step aside.

If she doesn't concede, if she would rather have blood on the floor at the convention, then so be it. She will have joined the dark side (which a lot of dems already believe).

Edited on Mon May-12-08 12:36 AM by newmajority
Any other candidate in the running this year would have dropped out by now, under the same circumstances.

How do I know? Because most of them DID, when their chances were actually BETTER than Hillary's are right now.

Hillary should drop out.

21. I don't think she should drop out yet
But I think the time is coming soon. The day after the Oregon/Kentucky primary would allow her to get two more wins between now and then (Kentucky and WV). Regardless of what anyone says, the other three primaries will still happen and there's always a chance she will win PR. Florida and Michigan will be dealt with and seated. Which really leaves nothing else on the table.

31. Hillary should stay in....
...for the comedy.

Did you catch SNL?
Olbermann today?
Browsed the politicdal cartoons lately?

I can't wait for Jon Stewart tonight ((Daily Show thrown off the Hillary campaign bus this weekend).

All the Late Night Commedians are having a Laugh Fest at Hillary's expense.

I haven't laughed so hard or so often since The Supremes appointed Bush President in 2000.

Huckabee is a lightweight compared to the cheap shots Hillary is offering us.
Would you deny me my laughter?
You're very harsh.

Hillary, Please stay in....if only for the laughs!
