SurveyUSA: Obama would win the California primary if it was held today.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) ― California voters would change their February primary vote for Hillary Clinton to a vote for Barack Obama if the vote were held again, according to an exclusive poll commissioned by CBS 5.

While voters in the California Democratic Presidential Primary backed Clinton by a 10-point margin, a new SurveyUSA poll shows that if given the chance to vote again, Californians would choose Barack Obama by a 6-point margin, 49%-43%.

The poll was conducted on May 7 and 8 and has a margin of error of 4%.

1. It would be really interesting to see what people would vote for now,
after seeing what this race has turned into.. Wonder if they would have picked a different candidate to move thru the process. This historical contest sucks.

5. "This historical contest sucks." Why?
1)Every contest is "historical".
2)We will always know more near the end of an election campaign than at the beginning. That is why we have election campaigns instead of holding snap elections a la parlimentary systems - and even they have short campaigns.
3)If everything went "according to plan" the world would be a helluva dull place.

2. Clinton had an early voting advantage, and lots of folks are having
buyer's remorse. Obama's national numbers are trending up again, he's reduced her OH win to single digits. Things are coming together quite nicely.

3. I think that's consistent with how they voted on election day...

Clinton only won California because 1/3 of the vote was done early. At that time Clinton led by more than 20 points because they didn't know who Obama was. I think this is also why the polling for the state was off.

4. And Remeber....
While overall Survey USA has been pretty good. They have had a tendency to underestimate Obama's support. (Indiana, North Carolina most recently)

This means Obama's actual support is probably GREATER.
