I heard Thom Hartman float the idea of Hillary as leader of the Senate
Edited on Fri May-09-08 04:59 PM by SpiralHawk
At least I think it was him -- was on truck radio in heavy traffic earlier today.

At any rate, what I heard was him outlining what an effective and historic leader she could be in the U. S. Senate as an ally to Barack and the D Party.

It really made sense to me.

Step back from your Presidential ambiltions, Hillary, and see what other grand opportunity awaits you and the nation.

It is time for your candidacy to be over.

4. She would be Harry Reid in a pantsuit
Another useless Senate leader preventing any worthwhile legislation from being passed.

Reid and Pelosi need to go, but their replacements actually need to be capable of DOING something.

the time she finally bows out that she would be ineffective/unwanted.

on edit: IMO, the Clintons are burning their credibility as well as their personal fortune on this race.

6. Hillary as Senate Leader is the dumbest idea of the silly season.
Edited on Fri May-09-08 05:11 PM by TexasObserver
It's as if someone said "hey, why don't they just give her the senate?"

She's BEAT!! She's pissed off most of her colleagues. The last thing the Democratic senators want is to reward her massively disastrous campaign to realign their world with her at the top. She's about as popular there as she is at DU.

It's never going to happen. She'll be eye balling NY Governor when she can't get on the ticket as VP. She'll be a pariah in the senate when she returns. People won't let her take photos with them in it now.

10. Hillary would be 100 times better than Harry Reid
Harry Reid put his arm around Nancy Pelosi to shut her up in the middle of a joint press conference, and Jon Stewart called him "Uncle McFeely Hands". Hillary would be 100 times better! B-)

11. I don't want her in any position of power
As Senate Majority leader, she will have a lot of influence on what Obama can accomplish. She has demonstrated that she cannot play nice with others. I don't want her playing games with all the things that Obama will try and accomplish. I don't want any DLCer as Senate majority leader, period.

13. I was all for this early on in the campaign
But she has proven she doesn't have the Democratic Party's best interests in mind. I hope someone will challenge her Senate seat, and if she thinks NY will have her as Governor I think she's dreaming.
