The war was either right or it was wrong.

Clear and crisp.

We can't have that debate with Hillary as the nominee because she voted for the war and never repudiated that decision.

2. The Fringe Benefit that we needed to have.......
And although Wolfe tried hard to speed Obama along on his point about this....this will be a recurring theme in Obama's campaign.

4. I won't agree that we could NOT have had that debate with a President Clinton
...but I HOPE that you are right that we can have that debate with a President Obama. This could be the first step to accountability.

6. Hillary repudiated Bush's War..
How would an apology change anything or the fact she didn't vote for it change anything?

11. Hillary out of political expediency sent all those young men and women to die in the sands of Iraq.
She represents the War and War Party as well as anyone.

7. Obama can definately make more of an issue of Iraq.
If Hillary tried to say how bad Iraq was, McCain would just be able to say she was just saying this because the polls have changed, she supported the war when the polls supported it. So he could have turned the Iraq criticism around on a super deflection, pointing back at Clinton's finger in the wind approach to issues.

He won't be able to do that with Obama. Maybe he will have to respond to the debate about Iraq directly!

9. If Hillary hadn't voted for the AUMF, she'd be the nominee now.
I've read a bunch of articles about what Hillary's campaign did wrong, but I think it really comes down to this one vote providing an opening for Barack to get his foot in the door. There were a LOT of people in the Democratic party who were hungry for a candidate who wasn't tainted by voting for the AUMF, more than I think Hillary ever realized until it was too late.

12. NEVER ARGUE BLACK & WHITE
because life isn't binary oppositions.

if you say it was wrong, you fall into a GOP trap: saying the 4000 dead americans died in vain.

which they did.

but remember, you have to pander in elections. people don't like hard truths that challenge their delusions of american moral infallibility. BHO will NOT tell the unvarnished truth of this war: Bush is a fool who exploited american's fears & used our bloated military to commit a war crime, resulting in the irretrievable loss of our hegemony & financial power. he threw our "empire" away, threw away our "moral authority", and wasted the lives of those who were foolish enough to trust him the most.

BHO cannot say that. until he's elected.
