5. "Bill Clinton - a genius at performance art who believes in absolutely nothing
Edited on Fri May-09-08 06:08 AM by Divernan
Pleased to give this a 5th rec. This is a devastating piece to watch. I've never heard Randall Robinson speak before - most impressive. I'd like to see him on Jon Stewart's show. It makes it easy to understand how subtly yet deliberately the Clinton campaign has played and continues to play the race card. It also makes it clear, that it's not just racism - the Clintons lack humanitarian feelins, which in turn establishes to me how EASY it was for HRC to vote against banning use of cluster bombs against civilians. They are both cold-hearted, however much genius Bill has at charming people.

I did not know the destruction Bill Clinton's actions did to the economy of(predominantly Afro-Caribbean populated) islands of St. Lucia and St. Vincent, as payback to his donor, Chiquita Bananas.

7. The date struck me - January 14, 2008 - Now in May it has proven true!!!!
I have changed my entire thoughts about Hillary and Bill too. I had started when I had tried to get some correspondence from Hillary on an issue and she completed ignored me back in 2004 (albeit I am in FL). Just let me say that I have written to other politicians, including McCain and received comments back! I then started to hear about Dubai issues with Bill and then the other issues with millionaires in India that were giving him millions for doing practically nothing. I have lost all respect for them and now this "hard-working white" comment of Hillary's has really put them into the toilet!

15. I will try.....
First a picture of MLK with the words - SPADE WORK (clinton racist code words) - over his head and then HRC comment where she used this comment on the campaign trial.

Dick Morris comes in on a video clip where he says that the Clinton's will use the race card but be very subtle about it. Then is goes to a comments from Randall Robinson, author of "A Broken Agony" which is about the Clinton years and where he asks what did he really do for the blacks - he says he didn't see him doing anything significant.

Robinson goes on to say that blacks are forgotten and fooled by Democratic politicians. MLK goes on to talk about the law protecting him from lynching, and the result being that he was lynched in the end. The video then goes on to talk about Bill Clinton going to Rwanda and saying he felt their pain, but doing little more then talking about it. I was also struck by the mention that a black vote was thought of as 3/5th of a white vote comment.

Hope that gives you some idea of what was being said in the video.

17. "Spade work" is not a racist code word
There are some idiomatic phrases that use the word "spade", such as "spade work" or "in spades". A passing use of such an idiom doesn't show that the speaker is racist or is dog-whistling to racist voters.

The video does a disservice to Randall Robinson. His thoughtful criticism of Clinton Administration policies is mixed in with cheap shots at Hillary.

The Clintons Play Dirty -- And The Media Lets Them
By Mike Gallagher
Friday, January 11, 2008

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/MikeGallagher/2008/01/11/the_clintons_play_dirty_--_and_the_media_lets_them?page=1

(snip)Sen. Clinton appeared on NBC’s Today Show and talked about the choice that voters were faced with in New Hampshire. She said the following: “When they say to themselves, OK, I have a choice between a truly inspirational speaker (Obama) who has not done the kind of spade work with the sort of experience that another candidate has…”

Spade work. That’s some choice of words for a black political opponent, no?

I have no idea if the use of a phrase like “spade work” in referring to Sen. Obama’s lack of experience was intentional on the part of Mrs. Clinton. If it was, that’s precisely what Dick Morris was saying the night before on “Hannity and Colmes,”, that she was going to inject race into New Hampshire without appearing to inject race. While “spade work” is certainly a common gardening phrase, I’m not sure anyone has ever used it on the campaign trail. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never used the phrase in my life. In fact, it would be fascinating to do a Lexis/Nexis search and see if she has EVER used the phrase, “spade work” in any of her interviews or speeches.

Care to wager that she hasn’t?

But it doesn’t actually matter if she meant to do it or not. That’s practically irrelevant.

Consider for a moment what would happen to a Republican candidate if he used the word “spade” in any way, shape or form while referring to a black opponent.

History, of course, confirms this. Sen. George Allen thinks a guy’s name is “macaca?” He’s gone. Sen. Trent Lott wishes Strom Thurmond a happy 100th birthday and says he would have made a fine president? Stick a fork in him.

............

Come on - have you EVER heard anyone use the "spade work" comment in your life??? It just doesn't add up and now looking back at Bill's comments, along with other pundits of HRC campaign remarks, it just is NOT kosher!

27. Amen....ESPECIALLY coming from such "race-sensitive" people like them
BC claims to have spent his ENTIRE life supporting "causes", and politicians like them NEVER say things "by accident".. I think sometimes they accidentally reveal their true selves..For example..Obama had to DEFEND the use of "bitter" and "clinging"..and what he said was TRUE....he ended up expplaining, but probably ONLY because of the stage of the race at the time, and because of the onslaught he was undergoing..If that happened NOW, I doubt that he would have stepped away from the comments as much..

BUT...

The comments made by HRC..especially in JANUARY, when she was the "inevitable" candidate shows how insensitive and careless she really is..

Obama gets pilloried because of things that someone else said...years ago...and This video is the only time I have ever heard of any of the things on the video...

She said this (not just the "spadework")..DURING the present campaign..

and as for "spade work"...could this be what SHE considers the code speak for the opposite of her very own dear "white working class"??

Ma-caaaaaaaaaa-caaaaaaaaa

35. Something Funny About That Date
The video is dated January 14, and at around 1:10, it's said, "and the fact that he's won all these primaries ..."

On January 14, there had been two primaries, and Obama had won one of them.

Kinda funky, that.

37. As much as I despise dick morris.....
He has always read her like an open book. He was hillary's contribution to the clinton team back in '91. He ruffled alot of feathers within the campaign, close friends and long time supporters of the clintons hated him, but she wanted somebody that would stop at nothing to get him elected and he fit the bill perfectly
.
He's been obsessed with her ever since, I think the hildebeast left a real impression on him.

38. Code Words
I think you have your racist radio receiver tuned a bit too fine. "Spade Work" is a common enought term, especially for older people who remember what physical work is (i.e. not typing on a computer). If she had said "heavy lifting" you would find that to be horribly racist too, I bet. I can remember when race baiting involved words like "welfare queens" or "Willie Horton" (or worse) and you didn't have to divine tea leaves to find it. It was pretty obvious.
